She looked at her watch and added, “If there’s nothing else, I’ll go now.”
After saying that, she turned around.
Milton couldn’t stand it anymore. He hugged her from behind and pleaded, “Don’t leave. Please.”
He didn’t know how to explain everything about her miscarriage. He had said those harsh words himself, and it was he who had signed the agreement for the abortion. It was his mother who had pushed her down the stairs.

“Please let me go,” Candice said in a voice as cold as the most merciless winter.
Seeing that Milton didn’t budge, she said in an even icier tone, “I don’t want to claim any ties with your family. The Lopez family doesn’t approve of me, especially your mother. Why are you still pushing this? I think it’s best that we only have a business relationship from now on.”
After saying that, she exerted all her strength to break away from him.
She didn’t want to argue with him anymore, so she walked quickly toward the doors.
Before she could push them open, Milton was already behind her.
He grabbed her by the arm.
He held her firmly and asked, “What if I insist?”
Before Candice could react, Milton was already dragging her out of the courtroom and all the way to the courthouse gates. When she regained her composure, she found herself already in the passenger seat of his Bentley.
Consumed with grief and rage, Milton hopped into the driver’s seat, slammed the door, and gunned the engine. He started driving away without even fastening his seatbelt.

Milton drove so fast that Candice clung to her seat, frantically fastening her seat belt.
Milton still hadn’t fastened his. He kept ignoring the car’s beeping seat belt warning.
Candice didn’t know where Milton was taking her, but they were definitely not heading back to his house.
He wasn’t driving her back to Sunrise Apartment either.
Finally, she asked, “Where on earth are you taking me?”

Soon, he pulled his Bentley over at his private dock. He killed the engine and got out of the car.
Candice unfastened her seat belt. Before she could open her door, Milton was already opening it for her. Then, he bent down and scooped her up in his arms. Afterward, he kicked the door shut and started carrying her away.
