“I’ve made it clear to him that I will distinguish between business matters and private ones,” Candice assured her.
“Okay,” Bettina sighed.
“Regarding Sunrise Apartment, can you terminate the lease contract for me? I don’t have a lot of stuff. Please just find a moving company to assist me in moving. You already know my address,” Candice requested. As soon as the words left her mouth, she thought about her wardrobe filled with clothes. If she moved all the clothes to the villa, she would have to store them in the guest room.
The wardrobe contained a collection of high-end customized clothes, including the latest styles from top brands this year.
Candice couldn’t believe Milton’s generosity.
Did she even deserve it?
She sneered at the thought.
Bettina replied, “You don’t have to terminate the lease. I’ll move your belongings to the villa, and I can move into your apartment myself.”
Candice was confused. “Why don’t you continue living at Chinsea Villa Complex? Also, the Hope Law Firm has relocated, and the Sunrise Apartment is no longer across from the law firm.”
“I’m tired of living there, so I want to change my environment,” Bettina replied, lying. She didn’t want to reveal the real reason she moved out, which was to avoid getting entangled with Bart. She also regretted moving the Hope Law Firm to the affiliated building of Royal Garden Corporation, which was too close to Bart’s workplace.
Candice frowned, sensing that Bettina was hiding something from her.
Bettina seemed different after disappearing from the ambassador’s wife’s birthday banquet, but Candice couldn’t quite identify what had changed.
“Fine, whatever. By the way, I’ll be returning to work at Hope Law Firm today,” Candice said, choosing to respect Bettina’s privacy. If Bettina didn’t want to talk about it, she thought it best not to press further.

Candice shook her head. “No, I have a legal aid case to handle. I can’t work from home.”
She glanced at the clock and continued, “I’ll go to work at noon. Can you convene a partners’ meeting?”
“It seems your decision is final,” Bettina sighed, realizing she couldn’t change Candice’s mind. “Okay, I’ll see you at the law firm later.”
“Thanks. See you.” Candice hung up and went to the bathroom to freshen up.
After washing up, she went to her closet to choose her work clothes.
