Chapter 602
Chapter 602:
She quickly retrieved her phone from her bag, opening WhatsApp to contact Milton while Corless was still disoriented. Messages from him filled her screen, but she had no time to read them.
Just as she sent her location, Corless lunged forward and kicked the phone from her grasp.
Candice’s wrist throbbed as her phone flew into a mirror, shattering both the mirror and the device.
“You think you can call for help, bitch? No way! You’re not escaping me today!” Corless growled, summoning his strength for another assault.
She dodged his punch, narrowly avoiding contact, but her clothing wasn’t so lucky.
“Slash!”
The fabric ripped, revealing a large patch of skin on her chest.
Corless’ excitement grew. He had touched her shoulder, smooth and delicate. The sensation had been intoxicating. He yearned to take her down again.
Candice recoiled. His touch repulsed her.
A few exchanges later, she felt her energy waning.
It struck her as odd; she had previously endured encounters with thugs for extended periods. Why was she so breathless after just a few exchanges with Corless? Was it lingering PTSD that weakened her?
But there was no time to ponder.
Her priority was to resist Corless.
In her haste, she wasn’t sure if her location had been sent successfully. Regret washed over her. If only she hadn’t been angry with Milton, she wouldn’t be in Corless’ clutches.
For now, she had to rely on herself.
Gasping, she backed away.
Corless sneered, wiping blood from his forehead. “You’re no match for me. No one else is here. End your suffering now and just surrender. Candice, you’re mine now. Let’s…” His lecherous gaze lingered on her exposed skin and flowing locks.

With a sinister grin, he uttered each word deliberately. “Enjoy our time.”
Candice felt a chill run down her body as she stood face to face with Corless.
She knew all too well that he was born with a twisted mind, taking pleasure in the fear and panic of his prey.
Candice was exhausted.
She knew that she had to escape as soon as possible.
She wasn’t foolish enough to take on Corless head-on when the odds were stacked against her.
She glanced towards the open door and considered her options. She wasn’t familiar with the area, but she knew that the forest behind the resort could offer her some cover from Corless’ pursuit.
Candice needed time to run away, and every second counted.
In a sinister voice, Corless taunted Candice, “You ruined my plan last time. But for the sake of your beauty, I’ll forgive you. Come on, don’t be afraid. I’ll make you happy.”
