Chapter 610
Chapter 610:
He thus resolved to teach her a thing or two.
“Get off me! Don’t touch me!” he spoke with an icy tone.
Then he released her and yanked her away from him.
With a sneaky peek, Candice turned around and looked back in the direction the mouse had just gone. Another dark figure scuttled past as she looked!
She ran back into Milton’s arms out of sheer panic. She sat on him this time, buried her head in his arms, and gave him a firm embrace around the waist.

Milton cuddled her tender body. The original discontent faded away, replaced by grief.
He caressed her back and persuaded her with a gentle voice, “You’re tired. Get some rest.”
Candice clung to his chest as she listened to his strong heartbeat, which made her feel particularly relieved.
She tried to close her eyes. This time, she was spared being reminded of the car accident and the bullying by Corless. She relaxed into his embrace, resting her head on his chest with one arm around his waist. She was out like a light in no time.
