Chapter 672
Chapter 672:
Erica gave a light cough, and since Paisley guessed right, there was no point in denying it.
With a forced grin, she confirmed, “Yes, it’s her.”
A smile played on Paisley’s lips as she responded, “No wonder you kept her hidden. She’s quite the asset. Erica, could I borrow the Lopez family’s top lawyer? I need some legal advice. It will only take fifteen minutes.”
Erica found herself at a loss, unsure of how to reject such a request. A vague premonition lingered in her mind, suggesting that Paisley’s intentions went beyond mere legal advice and might involve ulterior motives.
“So what? May I have fifteen minutes for my discussion? Milton, would you two mind waiting here? I’ll return shortly.” Paisley wore a broad grin on her face.
“Mom!” Protesting, Sigrid pulled at Paisley’s arm. She was at a loss regarding her mother’s intentions. In front of everyone, she had acknowledged Candice’s professional competency. How could she humiliate her own child in this manner? Where did Sigrid fall short in comparison to Candice?
Paisley gently stroked Sigrid’s hand and gave her a playful wink, hinting at something.
Sigrid’s comprehension dawned. Perhaps her mother had ulterior motives or was plotting to caution that bitch. If that was the game plan, it was a brilliant way of allowing her to vent her frustrations.
Instead of showing anger, Sigrid reassured, “Milton, it’s a minor issue. Could you do this favor for my mother?”
Denying people who asked for help politely was difficult, let alone when Paisley had taken the trouble to ask personally rather than inviting Candice for a meeting. This was a mark of reverence from the older generation towards the younger. Caught off guard, Milton couldn’t come up with any plausible reasons to deny.
The Olson family’s acknowledgment of Candice’s capabilities was a form of validation for her.
Milton, without overanalyzing, consented, “Alright. However, she won’t be able to handle the Olson family’s case. She’s already swamped with work.”

His affection for Candice made him concerned about her fatigue. Moreover, he didn’t want Candice to be overly involved with the Olson family.
“Well. Alright, let’s discuss the general idea of the lawsuit first, and then she can introduce me to a lawyer.” Paisley got to her feet, grinning. She purposely gave Erica a friendly tap and commented, “You’re so lucky to have such a competent lawyer to handle your personal matters. Unlike me, I am burnt out by conflicts. There are certain things that I can’t afford to let the shareholders discover.”
Erica merely smirked in response, choosing not to offer any reply. Intrigued yet somewhat dubious, she found the situation peculiar.
Simultaneously, Milton rose to his feet, saying, “I’ll accompany you.”
Out of the blue, Paisley blocked Milton’s path. She suggested with a smile, “Well, Milton, you may want to sit this one out. This is about confidential matters pertaining to the Olson family.” After a brief moment, Milton scowled and reluctantly agreed. “You have fifteen minutes,” he emphasized. He then retrieved his phone and sent a text to Candice.
“Mrs. Olson has some legal matters that require your attention. Fifteen minutes will do. Reach out to me if you require any help.” After dispatching the message, he resumed his seat.
