Chapter 678
Chapter 678:
Her exquisite profile and the alluring form accentuated by the marsh dress ignited his desire, tempting him to take her right there. Suddenly, regret washed over Milton for gifting her that dress, fearing that it would draw attention to her and make her appear overly provocative in the eyes of others. Such a stunning woman was his.
To soothe his overpowering impulse, he pulled her into his embrace. However, her proximity only served to amplify his lust, crumbling his resolve. He uttered, “We need to get back now. Damn it! I can’t hold back any longer.”
Candice glanced at him, taken aback, and uncertainly nibbled on her lower lip.
She didn’t want to surrender to her feelings for him, yet she couldn’t muster the will to reject him.
Milton lifted her to his chest, ready to depart.
Just then, his phone unexpectedly rang.
“Your phone is ringing,” Candice said as she pushed against his chest.
“Forget it,” Milton muttered.
“If someone wants to talk to you at this hour, they must have important news to share.” Candice moved away from him, not wanting to get carried away. There were other people in the hallway, which was embarrassing. He didn’t care, but she did. Milton irritably pulled out his phone and saw that it was Raul calling.
“Didn’t Raul go on a business trip to Denm?” Candice looked at her watch and said, “He must have something urgent to discuss with you.”
Since she had been with Milton these days, she was quite knowledgeable about the issues of the Royal Garden Corporation.
“No, he’s already back. He should be in Ploville now,” Milton replied as he shook his head. He then answered the phone while wearing a serious expression.
On the other end of the line, Raul stuttered anxiously, “Milton, the project in Denm failed. They fooled me. They gave me good assurances. After I left, they instantly regretted it and went to talk about cooperation with our rival in Denm. I think it’s still partly my fault. They don’t think I’m fit to make a deal with them. I can’t make certain decisions for you. I’m afraid you will need to go there in person.”

Then he continued, “We can’t afford to lose this project in Denm, or all the processes there will be affected. If we want to occupy the energy market in that location, we have to make this work.”
“I get it,” Milton replied with a frown. “I’ll go there myself. Help me apply for a private plane route tomorrow at noon.”
Distraught, Raul said in a hurry, “It will be too late if you delay this until tomorrow. The situation is much worse than you think, Milton. You have to leave tonight. Denm would be approaching dusk when you get there. You’re still in a hurry for an interview. Otherwise, the project will fail if you wait another day.”
“Is it so serious?” Milton’s expression suddenly turned cold.
“Yes, unfortunately. I already booked you a first-class flight to Denm. It’s at eleven-thirty,” said Raul.
He felt very guilty. Pausing for a second, he continued, “Where are you now? Are you home? Pack up your things and ask Jarrod to drive you to the airport. I’ll sort out all the documents and send them to you right away. I’m sorry, Milton. I didn’t handle it well.”
