Chapter 704
Chapter 704:
Candice observed Sigrid’s manic expression. She was far from the poised lady she portrayed herself to be.
An inward smirk formed on Candice’s lips. With no spectators around, Sigrid could drop her ladylike facade, unveiling her true, coarse and manipulative nature. She constantly masqueraded as affable and pleasant, which was frankly nauseating.
Without warning, Candice stretched out her hand to grab Sigrid’s, a smug grin playing on her lips. “Did I hear you right? Your finest creation? I remember distinctly someone suggesting it was nothing more than mediocre, worth putting up with just for a day before discarding at home.”
She was intentional in delivering Milton’s words to Sigrid. She found her own way to unsettle Sigrid.
Sigrid’s previously moving hand froze, and her eyes bulged with surprise. “That can’t be. Mediocre? You must be spouting nonsense!”
“I don’t spout nonsense. Time will reveal the truth about your design. And if you’re in doubt, why don’t you go and ask him?”
Their conversation was interrupted as Sigrid’s phone began to ring.
Identifying the caller ID, Sigrid answered without hesitation. “What?! How can this be?” The call ended, and Sigrid’s complexion took on a ghostly pallor.
Candice guessed that Sigrid had likely just been informed by the Royal Garden Corporation’s management department that her design had been outright rejected. She smirked dismissively. Of what use was Sigrid’s inflated self-esteem? At the end of the day, public recognition mattered the most. When it came to professional capability, Sigrid was no match for her.
A mixture of disbelief and fury twisted Sigrid’s features as she directed a venomous glare at Candice. “Bitch, did you sabotage me?! Did you badmouth me behind my…”
Her tone stern, Candice responded, “Miss Olson, I’ve already issued you a warning. I don’t intend to do it twice. I’m inclined to believe you’re not here to chat about fashion. My time is limited. Either spit it out within five minutes, or I’ll have security escort you out.”

Struggling to contain her irritation, Sigrid challenged, “What did my mom discuss with you last night?”
“Why not ask your mom instead of me?” Wearing a sarcastic smirk, Candice crossed her arms and commented, “That’s truly amusing. You two, mother and daughter, are a peculiar duo. Seems like you’re not quite in sync with each other.”
“What are you insinuating?” Sigrid’s eyes narrowed in suspicion.
“Just as I said.” Candice shrugged nonchalantly. “Now that you’ve aired your curiosity, kindly leave my law firm.” Their family was rather pitiful. The daughter hoped her mother would…
One woman sought to defend her, while the mother’s eyes were fixed solely on the future prospects she might gain. One wished to keep her distance from Milton, while the other consented to her being Milton’s mistress, even intending to persuade her own daughter. What an absurd situation.
Sigrid issued her final warning. “I’m not sure what legal advice my mother sought from you, but I won’t stand by while you meddle in my family matters. Don’t even think about it.”
