Chapter 711
Chapter 711:
“Exactly what it sounds like.” Greyson lifted the coffee mug from the table and took a leisurely sip. “Miss Olson, you won’t find what you’re seeking here. I’d suggest you return home. Farewell.”
Suppressing her fury, Sigrid approached Greyson. “Do I look like a fool to you? You think I’m unable to assist you?”
In a swift motion, Greyson lifted his gaze to meet Sigrid’s. Sigrid was suddenly overwhelmed with remorse.
“Don’t think that I don’t know. You just want to use me to frame Candice. I see your game. Your scheme involves dragging both Candice and me into a mess while you advance your selfish agenda. Do you really think I’m that naive? Listen. I would never engage in any actions that would cause her harm. It would be best for you to give up.” Greyson’s words rang loud and clear.
Sigrid’s complexion turned pale. She couldn’t even manage a masking smile.
Greyson proved to be a tough nut to crack, stubbornly resistant to manipulation. The one truly naive here was her.
“I’ve had enough of your devious plots, Sigrid Olson. I’m putting you on notice. I’m watching you from now. Try anything against her, and you’ll regret it for a lifetime.” Greyson then rang the service bell on his desk, beckoning the security personnel. “There’s a troublemaker here. Escort her out.”
Sigrid’s chest pounded with indignation. She huffed, “What’s so special about Candice? Is she really worth it? Milton just sees her as his plaything. To you, she’s nothing but a whore you’ve grown weary of.”
Greyson’s attractive features darkened. Did Candice desert him to endure such a slanderous assault from Sigrid?
His resolve to retrieve Candice grew stronger.
Just then, the security team entered the room.
“Show her the exit!” he commanded sternly.
The security team lunged forward to haul Sigrid out. “Don’t lay a finger on me. I can leave on my own.” With that, she turned around, held her head high, and strutted out of the office with the majesty of a peacock.
is packed with thrilling adventures
But before her departure, she had a parting shot.
“You’ll live to regret this, Greyson. There’ll come a day when you’ll approach me yourself. You’ll beg me to aid you. Just wait and see! Humph!”
In the Warren family’s house, Cathy gazed at the TV screen, her heart sinking. The headlines blared about the bankruptcy of Warren Building Materials and the acquisition by Royal Garden Corporation. The deal was done. Henceforth, the Royal Garden Corporation held all shares of Warren Building Materials.
And what did that mean?
It meant that her family’s legacy, the construction empire built over a century, had been snapped up by another in the blink of an eye.
She found it hard to believe that within a mere week, her family had experienced such tremendous changes.
She remembered the day Corless had lost in court. She had been there, witnessing it all firsthand. Her brother’s clandestine dealings coming to light had been a shock to her. So, her brother had been hiding so much from them all. Perhaps he feared his family’s disapproval, which is why he had kept those secrets in Wenkin. Now, she understood why her brother, a novice in the world of real estate, had been so stubborn about the Sunrise Mountain project in Wenkin. That was the whole story!
