Chapter 718
Chapter 718:
“You’re quite bold! But she’s way out of your league.”
“What’s the issue? Is it illegal to look at her and fantasize about having sex with her? It’s harmless to admire.”
“To tell you the truth, Mr. Lopez is a real marvel. The securing of Warren Building Materials this time was a stroke of genius. Hey, didn’t you assist in organizing the files? The job was executed brilliantly. It went beyond what we imagined. Miss Blake has truly outdone herself.”
“Well, Mr. Lopez indeed knows how to play his cards right. He possesses a keen sense of judgment, especially in choosing his company. He selects someone he can share his bed with, and who can also help him rake in profits. A real two-for-one deal. Ha-ha!”
“Lower your voice. If she overhears us and reports to Mr. Lopez, we’ll pay dearly.”
“Ha-ha! What sort of woman would be audacious enough to tattle on such a matter? You’re just overthinking.”
“I covet Mr. Lopez’s position. If he ever drops her, I want her.”
“Get out! You stand no chance!”
The rest of them joined in laughter and jeering, continuously raising their glasses and indulging in drinks while playfully teasing one another.
As she heard their banter, Candice’s expression shifted. She reached her limit.
They had perhaps forgotten that she was far from ordinary.
With a swift turn, she increased her speed and stormed straight toward them.
The men were visibly thunderstruck as the elegant beauty stood abruptly before them. Their offensive jokes were choked back, and only shock lingered in their eyes. The closer they got, the more they were taken by Candice’s captivating beauty. She resembled a timeless beauty stepping right out of a canvas.
Their mouths gaped open in surprise, as if their jaws were about to hit the floor.
Without any hesitation, Candice reached for the beer mug in front of them and doused it straight on the faces of the men who had disrespected her.
Instantaneously, the yellow liquid and white bubbles drenched their bodies.
After discarding the beer glass, Candice turned around and walked away without sparing them a glance. The men were left speechless, a mix of awe and shock on their faces, but no one dared cause trouble again.
On the other side, Milton made an unexpected return to Ploville in his private jet, a bit ahead of schedule tonight. Immediately upon touching down, Milton went straight to Candice’s house, brimming with excitement to surprise her. Lately, Candice had been diligently working at the law firm, heading home directly after her shifts, and faithfully answering his calls, which filled him with immense contentment.
As he neared the grand Blake family’s villa, he noticed the darkness enveloping it. The home seemed deserted, no lights shining through the windows.
Candice wasn’t home? He felt a sting of disappointment.
Why hadn’t she informed him?
