Chapter 811
Chapter 814:
Ever since Candice discovered that Milton was the one who had provided her warmth in the darkness of the cold storage ten years ago, her attitude towards him had completely transformed. She wholeheartedly believed in him.
On Candice and Greyson’s wedding night, Milton was a victim too. He mistakenly thought Candice drugged him, which led to his hurtful words. At that time, Candice swore to find out the truth and explain it to him later. Despite the mishap, it wasn’t all that bad. The pros overwhelmingly outweighed the cons.
For example, she had finally found the boy who was in the cold storage with her ten years ago.
Fortunately, that boy turned out to be Milton and no one else.
“Let’s pay close attention to the movie,” Candice beamed, withdrawing her hand from his slender lips. She leaned against Milton and rested her head on his shoulder.
Milton returned the gentle smile and replied, “Sure.”
As the movie neared its conclusion, the dynamic between the hero and the heroine underwent a transformation.
Candice was captivated, munching on her crisps as she watched. The new lemon and cucumber flavor she had been yearning for turned out to be absolutely delicious. She had been dying to buy them for a long time. Observing the crumbs on the corner of her mouth from her indulgence in the crisps, Milton couldn’t help but ask, “Is this junk food even edible?”
With her eyes widened in surprise, Candice looked at him and retorted, “Of course it is, and it’s incredibly tasty. Crisps are like my soul food. Don’t tell me you’ve never tried them.”
Milton shook his head and replied, “I haven’t. They’re high in calories. On average, a hundred grams contains at least six hundred calories, which is equivalent to eating three bowls of rice. It’s not conducive to maintaining my figure.”

Candice couldn’t believe her ears.
She exclaimed, “You can have less. You don’t have to finish an entire bag in one go.”
“Chips, fried chicken, Coca-Cola, and doughnuts—these cheap foods are actually a means for the capital market to control the poor,” Milton explained, adopting a serious tone. “By providing cheap junk food, people can experience a great sense of satisfaction at a low cost, leading them to accept their current circumstances and avoid striving or working hard. That’s why desserts are becoming sweeter and sweeter. It’s a capitalism trap.”
After a pause, he went on, “Moderation is key. Don’t eat too much. It’s not good for your health. The food I’ve prepared for you is nutritious and healthy. I’m making an exception today by allowing you to indulge. However, you must get rid of the remaining chips.”
Hearing this, Candice was rendered speechless. She had merely enjoyed a few crisps, yet Milton launched into a lengthy speech. And in the end, he insisted on discarding her chips after concluding his lecture.
