Chapter 826
Chapter 829:
Candice’s heart skipped a beat as she heard the name of the company. The victims were the founders of Centilength Biotech? So Grady and Benson were gone?!
In a single day, Dr. Foster, the person responsible for her parents’ car accident three years ago, and now Grady and Benson, who had assumed control of the Blake Group, had all met their demise?!
Did this mean that the trail had gone cold?
Candice had been diligently monitoring the accounts and business transactions of Grady and Benson, never allowing herself to relax.
She was aware that something was wrong with them, but she never saw their deaths coming!
It couldn’t be mere coincidence!
In that moment, Candice became certain that her parents’ deaths were entangled in a complex web of circumstances, and their killer had begun to take action.
She found herself in a state of passivity because those who had knowledge of the truth had died.
Overwhelmed by shock, Candice stood before the TV screen. Her hand was over her mouth, and her thoughts were in disarray. She didn’t know what steps to take next.
Just then, Milton emerged from the dressing room, dressed in a sharp suit. Noticing Candice’s bewildered state, he inquired, “What are you watching? Any major news?”
Candice snapped out of her daze, swiftly turned off the TV, and shook her head.
“No, nothing important,” she replied, concealing her shock. Gathering her composure, she redirected the conversation. “And what about you? Are you ready to leave?”
Candice turned to face Milton, her gaze fixated on his tie. She immediately reached out and casually adjusted it.
Candice was unaware of the wife-like mannerisms she exhibited. It was an unconscious response.

Milton’s demeanor instantly softened, and he said in a clear tone, “Yes, I’m leaving now. You can head out later. I’ll arrange for Jarrod to drive you to the company.”
“Alright,” Candice responded.
She nudged Milton and urged, “Come on, hurry up.”
Milton gently tilted her chin and said, “Give me a kiss before I go.”
Blushing, Candice bit her lip. Reluctantly complying with Milton’s request, she stood on her tiptoes, raised her head, and lightly brushed her lips against his.
She didn’t dare give in to the kiss fully, fearing that if Milton lost control, it would derail her plans for the morning.
Milton raised his wrist and checked his watch. Although he was not pleased with her kiss, he had pressing matters to attend to and had to go.
“I’m off,” he said. Pinching Candice’s cheek, he teased, “You owe me a proper kiss tonight.”
With that, he turned and walked out of the villa.
