Chapter 875
Chapter 878:
After hesitating for a while, she decided to go.
However, the hour was late, and the journey to the event would consume a considerable amount of time if she traveled by car. It became apparent that only the villa’s helicopter could ensure her timely arrival. Fortunately, the estate maintained a helicopter and a seasoned pilot at the ready, prepared for unforeseen emergencies that might require Arlo’s swift rescue.
Conley, Erica’s devoted chauffeur, possessed a pilot’s license. She called him, urging him to prepare the helicopter for departure within twenty minutes.
As she gathered her belongings, a servant, diligently tending to her duties, inadvertently toppled a box. The box, crafted from yellow pear wood, boasted intricate and elaborate patterns.
With a resounding click, the box’s lid sprang open as if triggered by an unseen mechanism.
The unexpected turn of events left the servant in a state of panic, hastily apologizing for the presumed damage.
“I’m sorry, Mrs. Lopez. It’s my fault. Sorry, I broke it.”
Erica’s gaze fixated on the fallen box, her mind awash with bewilderment. How could this seemingly ornamental box be opened? She had thought it was just a decorative piece.
Drawing closer, she gingerly examined the box, discovering several folded papers nestled within. Among them lay a folded mobile phone, its design reminiscent of a bygone era.
She had never seen Arlo use this phone before. Whose phone could it be? And why had her husband kept it hidden in the box?
Her frown deepening, Erica cast a searching glance toward Arlo, still lost in a coma. The mystery surrounding his condition and the identity of his assailant remained unsolved. Could the phone hold any answers?
“It doesn’t matter. You can leave now. Close the door,” Erica commanded the servant.

Once she was alone, Erica meticulously unfolded the papers, furrowing her brow as she studied their contents.
Determined and somber, she swiftly retrieved a charger compatible with the outdated phone. Despite its archaic design, the phone’s interface mirrored that of modern devices.
Carefully, she plugged in the charger and connected the phone.
A beep signaled the illumination of the screen, and Erica felt her pulse quicken, a sense of imminent truth closing in.
Navigating through the menus, she methodically reviewed the message records one by one.
As the messages appeared before her, her widening eyes betrayed a mix of astonishment and disbelief.
Overwhelmed, she instinctively pressed her trembling hands to her lips, struggling to contain her emotions.
The revelations left her breathless, almost suffocating under the weight of the truth.
