Chapter 899
Chapter 902:
“What are you trying to say? Make it clear.” Bettina’s anxiety rose.
“What do you mean, the show just begins?”
Bart shook his head, replying, “Why should I tell you? But…”
He grinned and discreetly slid a hotel key card into Bettina’s pocket.
“Remember to visit me. If you play nice, I might tell you something.”
After uttering those words, Bart burst into uncontrollable laughter before vanishing around the corner.
Bettina’s complexion blanched, her grip tightening around the hotel key card in her pocket. A wave of frustration washed over her. What did he imply with that? She struggled to discern which of his words were true and which were false. She had been deceived by him.
Yet one certainty echoed in her mind. Bart would not have hinted at something without a strategy in hand. The conflict within the Lopez family had just begun. The uncertainty of the danger that might await Candice in the upcoming days filled her with dread. What should she do?
As Bettina pondered, a distinct male voice broke the silence.
“Betty, it feels like ages since I’ve been looking for you. It’s a relief to find you finally.”
The voice belonged to Raul.
His words startled Bettina out of her thoughts. Upon spotting Raul approaching, she hurriedly responded, “Ah, I just went for a quick restroom break.”
“Your complexion doesn’t look too good. What happened?” Raul observed a smudge of blood on her lips, gently brushing it away as he inquired, “What happened? Why the bleeding?”
Taken aback, Bettina retreated a step, offering, “Nothing really. Bit my lip while eating. I felt a sudden cramp too. That’s why I had to step out. Please, bear with me. I need to use the restroom again.”
Finishing her sentence, Bettina swiftly swung open the restroom door and dashed in.

Raul patiently waited outside.
When she finally emerged, Bettina looked as if nothing had happened. “I feel much better now.”
Raul nodded, understanding that the events of that night would naturally have left Bettina feeling under the weather.
“The party’s winding down. If you’re not feeling up to it, we can head out early,” Raul suggested.
Shaking her head, Bettina replied, “No, that’s fine. Let’s leave together at the end. I’ll catch a ride with you back to Sunset Apartment. The main characters of tonight’s event have already left. It would reflect poorly on us if we left early. Just hang in there a little longer.”
Raul mustered an awkward smile. Internally, she was cursing Milton for abandoning her to handle the consequences while he enjoyed himself with his girlfriend, a highly frustrating situation.
