Chapter 918
Chapter 923:
Adding to the confusion were the rumors about Corrine and Arlo. Greyson was overwhelmed with questions, each one leading to the next in an endless loop.
He looked down at the materials in his hands. Yesterday, his colleagues had shared some valuable image data with him. It was a collection of old photographs from many years ago. He hesitated, unsure whether to share this information with Candice.
At that moment, Sigrid’s voice crackled through the phone, announcing the impending engagement of Candice and Milton on Wednesday. In just two days? How could they move so quickly?
“Is this true?” Greyson’s voice was cold. “This is the engagement of the president of the Royal Garden Corporation. It’s a significant event. Why hasn’t there been any news?”
“Do you think I would joke about this?” Sigrid retorted impatiently. “Catherine’s the one in charge of the dresses and venue setup. I learned it from her. Candice was there and didn’t say anything to deny it. I’m sure about it. If you’re indifferent and want to let her go, then forget it,” Sigrid said. “I’ll give you to the count of three. If there’s no response, I’m hanging up. Three, two…”
“Let’s meet,” Greyson interjected abruptly.
“Okay.” A determined spark ignited in Sigrid’s eyes. She would never sit still and admit defeat.
After ending the call, her gaze fell on the white Bentley. It was clearly Milton’s recent purchase for Candice. And if her eyes weren’t deceiving her, Candice had driven the car back alone, without anyone else with her. It seemed Candice had conquered her post-traumatic stress disorder. Was that even possible? It was beyond belief. Sigrid seethed with hatred for Candice.
She glanced at the towering Royal Garden Corporation’s subsidiary building, knowing that Candice’s office was on the top floor. Her lower lip bore the brunt of her frustration. Damn it! She would never concede. She was determined to marry Milton, the president of the Royal Garden Corporation, at all costs.
With this resolve, Sigrid dialed Alleyne.

“Get on it. What has Candice been up to lately? Where has she been visiting? Who has she been meeting? I want a detailed report.”
Alleyne responded, “Sure. Lately, Candice has been investigating her parents’ car accident and untimely death three years ago. There’s nothing else of significance. I’ll keep tabs on her and update you promptly if anything arises.”
“Keep a sharp eye on her!” Sigrid snapped.
After hanging up, Sigrid spun around and stormed off, her anger palpable.
In the elegant confines of the Hope Law Firm, Catherine meticulously examined the dimensions of the dress within Candice’s office.
“The sizes Mr. Lopez provided are precisely correct. I’ll double-check your shoulder width, arm length, and leg length,” she said as she diligently noted down the details on paper.
A faint blush graced Candice’s cheeks; Milton knew her sizes all too well. She felt a tinge of shyness. Milton truly did know her inside out.
To mask her bashfulness, she cleared her throat and said with utmost politeness, “It all happened so suddenly. Thank you for accepting this job.”
