Chapter 919
Chapter 924:
Catherine lifted her head and smiled graciously. “It’s my honor. Mr. Lopez initially invited me from France to design your wedding dress. But now, he has bestowed upon me the esteemed position of design director. I’m truly flattered.”
“Design my wedding dress?” Candice’s mind swirled with confusion; she had no idea about any wedding dress plans.
“Oh, you didn’t know?” Catherine’s smile remained warm, though a hint of mischief danced in her eyes. “It seems I may have revealed too much. Mr. Lopez probably intends to surprise you. He has given me a month to create a truly unique wedding dress—one that will be unmatched in the world.”
Candice was speechless when she heard that.
She realized that Milton had orchestrated every aspect of their wedding preparations. From obtaining the marriage certificate to announcing their engagement and planning the entire ceremony, he had taken care of everything, without even bothering to inform her. Just as he had instructed, she merely needed to trail behind him, effortlessly following his lead.
She delicately pursed her lips, a faint display of helplessness, yet ultimately choosing to grant him her forgiveness. She had grown accustomed to his domineering demeanor. Deep down, she acknowledged her own compliance, although she saw no fault in it.
After all, her desire to remain by his side outweighed any reservations she might have had, making it simpler to accept his every arrangement.
Love had cast a veil over her discernment.
Catherine gracefully squatted on the ground, engrossed in the task of measuring dimensions. She gazed upwards, her voice carrying admiration as she spoke.
“Your temperament and personality, Miss Blake, are truly remarkable. You exude authenticity and never put on airs.”
In truth, what she yearned to convey was the stark dissimilarity between Candice and other women. Compared to Sigrid, Candice lacked a prominent lineage or influential background. Yet, she had managed to captivate Milton’s favor, remaining humble and devoid of arrogance.

Her attire was unpretentious, embodying simplicity and modesty. Catherine had heard of Candice, acknowledging her rise in the legal realm through sheer determination and self-reliance.
Candice lowered her gaze, casting a fleeting glance at Catherine. She had heard tales of Sigrid’s mistreatment of Catherine.
“Why would I put on airs?” Candice consoled Catherine, saying, “We are no different. We are both ordinary individuals without a privileged upbringing. We cannot depend on our parents. Our only reliance is on our own abilities and diligent efforts in this world. We have carved out our own careers, achievements obtained through our relentless endeavors. Therefore, why should we harbor self-contempt? We ought to take pride in ourselves. Our dreams have materialized through our unwavering commitment. We are unparalleled.”
Catherine was almost moved to tears by her words. Sigrid had subjected her to relentless bullying, yet she lacked the courage to resist. Now, Candice’s words filled her with immense excitement.
“Reveal your true capabilities to everyone and demonstrate that you are the finest,” Candice encouraged her.
