Chapter 942
Chapter 948:
Gasps echoed through the crowd.
They couldn’t believe the audacity of the act. This was utterly embarrassing.
Sigrid, displaying her cruelty, didn’t stop there. She delivered a vicious kick to Catherine’s knee, forcing her to kneel before the gathering.
With a fierce sneer, Sigrid snapped at her, “You stupid lowlife. Do you think you made a wise decision to side with Candice? How dare you compete with me for the design director position? Do you truly believe you’re fit to challenge me? You’re nothing but an insignificant pawn. Once Candice is out of the picture, you’ll be cast aside from Royal Garden Corporation like worthless trash. You’ll never set foot in the design field again.”
Catherine’s heart sank, and she trembled under the weight of the humiliation.
The crowd’s murmurs added to her distress. But Bettina, unable to bear witness to this, rushed to her side, her anger palpable.
“Your actions are beyond reprehensible!” Bettina confronted Sigrid. “Catherine earned her position with her talent. You, on the other hand, lack the skill to match.”
Raul, observing the altercation from afar, couldn’t ignore the injustice and decided to step in to support Bettina and Catherine.
This encounter shattered his preconceived notions of Sigrid’s nobility, exposing her disdainful behavior. She lacked the dignity that came with being from a prestigious family.
“I know you. You’re from the Reeves family,” Sigrid said. “It would be wise to mind your own business and refrain from creating disturbances.”
Given that her family was well-established in the media industry, Sigrid didn’t want to make an enemy of Bettina.
Moreover, Raul’s presence reminded her not to further provoke the situation. She was aware that Milton’s closest friend was Raul. She didn’t want to leave a bad impression on him in case he spoke ill of her in front of Milton.
Elmo approached Sigrid and pulled her away. “Why are you here this evening? Let’s leave right away!”

Meanwhile, Bettina’s compassionate gesture of wiping away the wine stains provided a glimmer of solace.
Expressing her gratitude, Catherine said, “Thank you for coming to my rescue, Miss Reeves.”
Bettina rubbed between her eyebrows, looking annoyed. She was left bewildered as the engagement party descended into chaos.
Raul stepped in to address Catherine. “You and the makeup artist can leave now. That’s all for today. Don’t worry about Sigrid. I’m in charge of the new product release, and as long as I’m part of the group, she can’t do anything to you.”
Expressing her gratitude, Catherine lifted her head and replied, “Thank you, Mr. Hinks. Then we’ll leave now.”
Once Catherine and the makeup artist departed, Raul had to face the task of dealing with the guests.
Though he had helped Milton clean up messes in the past, this particular situation was on an unprecedented scale.
