Chapter 951
Chapter 957:
Did Candice drive on her own? Where would she go from here? What was her next move? Would she be deeply affected? Her PTSD had only just gotten better—would it worsen because of what happened today?
Milton was rattled. All of a sudden, he rushed toward the lift. The least he could do was ensure she left safely.
By the time Milton rushed from the suite, Candice was already at the elevator.
She was subdued by a wave of sadness. When the elevator doors slid open silently, she quietly entered. Candice was so dazed that she forgot to press the button, causing the elevator to travel up and down numerous times.
The elevator wall was cold and unforgiving as she leaned against it. She looked a mess. The other guests who entered and exited the elevator glanced at her with aversion in their eyes.
Candice rode the elevator for a long time until a waitress noticed her. The waitress had gone upstairs to deliver towels, and on her way back down, she noticed that Candice was still in the elevator.
Concerned, she asked, “Miss, which floor do you wish to go to? I’ll press the button for you.”
“Ground floor… Lobby…” Candice replied in a weak voice.
The waitress quietly pressed the button for the lobby.
Once the elevator doors slid open at the lobby, the waitress said politely, “Miss, we’ve reached the lobby.”
It was only then that Candice came to her senses. She looked around numbly and entered the grand and luxurious lobby. The dazzle of the bright lights made her feel dizzy.
Candice felt uncomfortable and couldn’t even walk properly. She had been strong for too long and had suddenly given up.

She stopped in her tracks and leaned against a marble pillar, as if there was no strength left in her body.
One of the hotel staff noticed this and quickly came forward. “Miss, are you okay? Do you need to go to the hospital? Should I call you a cab?”
Although she felt frail, Candice refused. She leaned against the cold marble pillar and wanted to take a break.
However, she felt that something was terribly wrong.
This was different. Her heart and chest ached. It was so painful that she couldn’t bear it. She felt dizzy, and her heartbeat pounded in her ears. She started to experience shortness of breath. She tried to take a deep breath but couldn’t.
Soon, she found it difficult to breathe.
Suddenly, everything went dark in front of her eyes, and Candice collapsed to the floor in a heap.
Greyson, who had been waiting in the lobby, noticed that Candice had stumbled in and was leaning against the marble pillar. Since she looked dazed, he quickened his steps toward her.
