Chapter 1024
Chapter 1034:
With a precise gesture, Candice directed her attention toward the documents laid before the directors and shareholders. She instructed Thomas, “Secure this room. No one leaves without explicit permission. Sequester all the materials before them.”
Thomas responded with alacrity, “Yes, Ma’am.” In unison with Leo, Anna, Tony, and their accompanying associates, they advanced to impound the pertinent documents and materials.
Suddenly, a commotion erupted within the confines of the meeting room. Raul scanned the tumultuous scene, clearly caught off guard once more. The turn of events was veering far from his expectations.
Candice had returned and, in a move seemingly beneficial to Milton, she annulled the establishment of the Royal Garden Corporation’s international investment branch and invalidated the vote. Indeed, the foreign market would remain beyond Bart’s grasp.
Yet, this wasn’t merely a stroke of good fortune for Milton. It was a dire threat to the enterprise itself, as ICIF’s looming presence posed a grave risk to the Royal Garden Corporation.
Suddenly, Raul found himself utterly perplexed. Was Candice’s intent to aid Milton, or was she deliberately engineering obstacles in his path?
Within the meeting room, ICIF agents diligently gathered information and methodically deposited documents into their imposing blue box.
Milton and Candice exchanged a lingering gaze, each harboring their unspoken thoughts.
With arms folded firmly across her chest, Candice stood regally, her posture exuding an air of stern authority.
Her unwavering gaze ran up and down Milton’s form, taking in the subtle changes in his appearance, the more chiseled jawline, and his deeper, refined contours. His undeniable and captivating allure had always held a potent draw. Yet, at this very moment, Candice remained resolutely expressionless, an embodiment of icy aloofness.

After her subordinates had taken control of the documents, she conjured a strained smile and inquired, “Mr. Lopez, it’s been quite a while. How have you been lately?”
The polite query carried a tinge of irony.
A year had passed, and Candice was well aware of Milton’s engagement to Sigrid, even though they had not yet tied the knot.
“Oh, and,” Candice added with a sardonic twist to her words, “don’t forget to convey my warm regards to your fiancée.”
Milton’s countenance underwent a swift transformation, but he remained silent. It was evident that he was grappling with a multitude of emotions, struggling to find his voice, his gaze locked on Candice with a touch of longing.
After a prolonged pause, he finally spoke through clenched teeth. “It’s been a year since we last met. Why have you brought these individuals here?”
Candice let out a dry, humorless laugh. “You’ve heard my words, haven’t you? It’s been a year since our last encounter. I can see you’re thriving, but regrettably, in the days to come, I’m afraid you’ll be in for quite a tumultuous journey.”
