Chapter 1032
Chapter 1042:
That was to say, what Sigrid was left with wasn’t shares but an overwhelming debt.
Sigrid lacked the funds to repay such a substantial debt to redeem her shares. With an ample reserve of foreign exchange, Elmo had the means to acquire the 15% stake at a discounted rate.
When Joseph and Robert lost their right to oversee the business, the shares they held would be rendered worthless. At that point, the entire Olson family would fall under Elmo’s control.
A glint of ambition sparkled in Elmo’s azure eyes.
“I understand now. It’s no wonder you inquired about my readiness to assume control of the Olson family as soon as you arrived.”
Elmo couldn’t help but admire how, in just a single year, Candice had devised a meticulous plan, leveraging her ICIF status to ensnare the Olson family in turmoil.
Although he anticipated the challenge of rectifying the situation once he assumed leadership, he believed in his ability to restore the Olson family within a span of less than two years.
With wealth and influence, he would have everything he needed.
Candice was preparing to depart. “I’ve conveyed everything I needed to say today, and I’ve taken all the steps I can. The remainder is in your hands. You should be informed of Joseph’s and Robert’s arrests soon. It’s getting late, so I must be on my way.”
“Hold on for a moment. It’s been a year since we last saw each other. Why don’t you stay a bit longer? You haven’t even asked if I’ve missed you.” Suddenly, Elmo seized Candice’s arm and drew her closer to him, their bodies coming into close proximity.
Candice’s gaze fell upon Elmo’s intrusive hand, and she responded icily, “We had an agreement. I’ll assist you in securing the Olson family’s assets. However, you can’t chase after me. So, what do you mean now?”
Instead of releasing her, Elmo used his physical strength to his advantage, firmly holding her delicate waist.

“I didn’t mean anything. It’s just a natural response.” He offered an evil grin. Candice felt a hint of irritation. “Suppress your natural responses. Are you going back on your word?”
Elmo remained silent. In truth, he was indeed contemplating breaking his promise.
He knew he shouldn’t covet Candice. Milton had been crazy for her, and he and Milton were close friends. Had it not been for this friendship, Elmo would have already confessed his feelings toward Candice a year ago.
Yet, he had to acknowledge the persistence of that temptation, the desire to make his advances toward Candice.
However, he managed to control himself and didn’t reveal his intentions immediately.
Shifting the subject, Elmo spoke casually. “Candice, it appears to be a flawless plan, but you’ve overlooked a critical factor. I need to remind you that there’s a wildcard in our strategy.”
“What wildcard?” Candice inquired. “What are you talking about? Unless you can’t come up with ten billion dollars to acquire the Olson family.”
