Chapter 1036
Chapter 1046:
Elmo, on the inside, couldn’t help but scoff at the proposal.
Paisley and Sigrid seemed genuinely concerned about Joseph, Robert, and Andrew, as well as the future of the Olson dynasty. But in reality, they cared solely for themselves and their vested interests.
They didn’t take Elmo seriously at all. They even entertained the fantasy of retaining him, such that all they had to do was wait to get their bonus! Why would he do that, given his abilities and position in the corporate world? Such a joke!
They took advantage of Elmo while he was young and lured him to their side as a counterbalance to Joseph and Robert.
Despite being Andrew’s fourth wife, Paisley was disadvantaged in the Olson family since she only gave birth to a heiress.
Although Sigrid typically showed him respect, it was nothing more than a ploy to exploit his wealth and influence.
They genuinely believed he could be their ticket to success.
Despite his disdain for their schemes, Elmo maintained a poker face. The game was far from over, and revealing his ace too soon would be unwise.
Seeing Elmo’s apparent compliance, Sigrid assumed he was on board. She reminded him, “Elmo, our foremost priority is to ascertain what incriminating evidence the prosecutor’s office has.”
Unearthed in our family home. It would be wise for you to use your connections to obliterate any detrimental evidence.” Candice, standing by the door all the while, observed the entire exchange with icy detachment. She had seen enough of their theatrics.
In an attempt to throw fuel on the fire, she interjected, “Tampering with evidence and perjury can compound your problems. I’d advise against it. Otherwise, dealing with the prosecutor’s office might become a far more tricky ordeal.”
Upon hearing the familiar voice, Sigrid spun around, her eyes registering a mix of disbelief and astonishment.
It was Candice! The very same Candice who had vanished for an entire year!

Sigrid had assumed Candice had fled out of shame, unable to bear the weight of her actions. She hadn’t anticipated Candice’s reappearance in Elmo’s office. And Candice was dressed in an unfamiliar uniform that Sigrid hadn’t seen before, radiating an air of confidence and authority.
Since a year ago, Sigrid hadn’t seen Candice. Candice was becoming more attractive and had a superb disposition. Even Sigrid was afraid to face her directly.
Sigrid’s voice quivered slightly, but she was determined not to let her façade crumble before Candice.
With a deliberate hand on her hip, Sigrid wanted to maintain her dominance as she scolded Candice, “Why are you here, bitch? What are you doing in my brother’s office?”
She looked Candice up and down with a condescending smirk. She aimed to assert her superiority over Candice. “Milton doesn’t want you anymore. Are you trying to seduce my brother now?”
Candice laughed as if she had just heard the world’s greatest joke. Sigrid was still as stupid as ever!
