Chapter 1002
Chapter 1010:
Milton slumped onto the sofa, overwhelmed and at a loss for words.
“Do you know where she’s gone? Bettina must know something. Candice must have told her. I will ask Bettina.”
Milton held on to a glimmer of hope that, if he could find out Candice’s whereabouts, he could convince her to rekindle her passion for her legal career. Her love for her job was palpable, and her charisma had captivated him during their work together. The idea of her relinquishing her license was unfathomable. She was one of the few who displayed exceptional performance in court. But now…
“No need,” Raul replied, restraining Milton from rushing out of the office. “I’ve already asked Bettina. She’s in the dark, just as we are. She’s even more desperate for answers than we are.”
Milton stood stunned, his heart sinking like a ship in a storm-tossed sea. Even Bettina was in the dark!
At this moment, Raul’s mobile phone rang. It was his trusty assistant, Axell.
Putting the call on speaker, Raul said, “It’s Axell. I tasked him with tracking down Candice. Perhaps he’s found something.”
Milton snatched the phone, eager for any information, and implored, “Have you found Candice? Tell us, please!”
Axell’s voice came from the phone, “Mr. Lopez, Mr. Hinks, I’ve discovered that Candice returned three days ago and swiftly caught a flight to Blibrey. However, I’ve combed through Blibrey’s hotels via discreet channels, but there’s no record of her check-in. It’s as if she re-routed after getting to Blibrey, possibly to another undisclosed location.”
“What about her flight connections?” Raul asked, his voice a mix of desperation and hope.
“Sorry, I found nothing there. I couldn’t find any information about her flight connections. There are, in my opinion, just two possibilities. First, she assumed a different identity before getting on the plane, and second, she used land transportation to get to a different nation before connecting on a flight. That way, you can’t catch her,” said Axell helplessly.

Milton, struggling to hold back his frustration, held his forehead. Candice had left no stone unturned in her efforts to remain hidden.
“What about her finances? She must need funds for her journey. We can track her through her bank accounts. There has to be a trace!” Milton insisted.
Axell’s reply was a bitter pill to swallow. “I looked into her finances and discovered that during a business trip in Thonde, she opened a new account and transferred nearly thirty million.”
Milton exclaimed, ecstatic, “Yes! You can start from that bank account and see where she could have withdrawn the money. Next, we can search for her. We have to find her, no matter where she is!”
