Chapter 75:
For three years of marriage, she had kept my birthday as the password to her phone.
That realization barely had time to settle before the screen lit up with a flood of notifications.
At the very top of the trending list, bold red headlines stood out: Voss Group CEO suspected of cheating.
I pressed into the link, and nine high-resolution photos filled the screen. Some caught the moment I moved to shield her waist as we walked out of the theater. There were even surveillance shots stamped at 3:00 a.m., showing us getting into the same car.
For a long time, rumors about Ivy and me had already spread everywhere, and people had taken it for granted that we belonged together. Now, with these late-night photos involving Lianne, the public had already made up its mind.
My attention stopped on the last image. In it, Lianne stood on her toes, her face tilted toward mine as if she was about to kiss my cheek.
I had never noticed her looking at me like that, nor had I known she ever wanted to take that step first.

But the moment I opened the comments, that brief stir of emotion disappeared, replaced by anger.
“This woman looks like she knows exactly how to tempt men. No wonder she managed to get close to the Alpha.”
“I feel sorry for Ivy. She stayed by the Alpha’s side for so long, only to be pushed aside by someone like this.”
“People like her should be driven out of the pack. She doesn’t deserve to stay.”
In everyone’s eyes, Ivy was the one meant to stand beside me, while Lianne, the mate bound to me, had been turned into the villain they all despised.
“Noah, use every PR channel we have and shut this down immediately,” I said through the mind link, my tone firm. “Within thirty minutes, I don’t want to see anything targeting Lianne.”
Right after I gave the order, a sharp pain tore through my mind. Ava, Ivy’s manager, spoke through the mind link.
“Alpha, Ivy already saw the headlines. She’s not doing well. She locked herself in her room and keeps crying. She keeps asking who that woman is…”
A sharp ache spread through my head as I listened. I pressed my fingers against my temples and pushed down the faint guilt that tried to surface because of Lianne.
“Tell her it’s all made up. I’ll take care of it. She won’t get dragged into this.”
I cut off the connection and looked down at Lianne’s phone again. For a brief moment, I hesitated. Then I slipped it into my pocket instead of putting it back.
Facing the staff, I instructed, “When Lianne wakes up, keep her inside. No one is allowed to mention the headlines to her.”
The maid looked uncertain. “But—”
“Do as I said,” I cut in, my gaze turning cold. “Things online blow up fast and disappear just as quickly. I don’t want her seeing any of it.”
