Chapter 283

Chapter 283:
“I don’t have time for games.” I leaned forward slightly, my eyes sharp and unflinching. “You either tell me honestly how you intend to fix this, or you leave now, and tomorrow the company’s legal team will file a formal lawsuit that could financially destroy you.”
That statement broke her entirely.
Zoe crumpled, panic flooding her features, tears brimming in her eyes as she pleaded over and over. “Ms. Riley, I’m so sorry! Please help me. I didn’t mean any harm. My family’s situation left me desperate. I want to make this right. Please don’t sue me!”
I watched her struggle like this and felt nothing.
I was no longer the she-wolf who once trembled and cried in front of Ethan.
In a world where only the strong endured, decisiveness was the only path to resolution.
“You want to make amends? Very well.” I pushed my phone toward her. “Call the holdout now. Tell him the blueprints have been changed, the main entrance is being moved to the west, and his property no longer holds any leverage. Whether he complies or not, the company will not intervene further.”
Zoe’s expression tightened, her words barely audible. “But what if he shouts at me? What if he comes after me?”
I let out a harsh, cold laugh and rose to my feet, making my stance deliberately imposing. “If you’re that afraid of him, then go face the legal team instead. Let your standing in the industry crumble, get dismissed from the company, and you’ll likely be exiled from the pack before long. Without the shelter of a pack, you’ll be nothing but a rogue wolf. You know what happens to rogue wolves.”
The mere mention of becoming a rogue wolf sent a chill racing down Zoe’s spine.

In the world of werewolves, being cast out meant complete isolation and even being hunted.
“I’ll call him right away!” Zoe said, her hands shaking as she dialed the number and switched the call to speaker.
The moment the holdout heard that the blueprints had been altered, his confidence crumbled, his voice shifting from smugness to desperate pleading.
Following my guidance, Zoe wove a string of lies, pressing him to sign the one-million-dollar compensation contract while warning that he risked receiving less than eight hundred thousand otherwise.
When the call ended, Zoe sank into the couch, sobbing and begging for leniency.
“I’ll speak to Alex on your behalf, but I cannot promise what will happen,” I cautioned her. I reminded her never to attempt such underhanded schemes again before letting her go.
Soon after, Alex called back, his excitement practically radiating through the line.
“Lianne! It worked! The holdout called and agreed to the demolition! One million dollars, not a cent more! You saved us!”
I barely had a moment to breathe before his next words made my heart tighten painfully.
“By the way, the investor is heading to the site to inspect everything in person. Get over here immediately. We’ll meet at the construction site!”
Investor? Bridgeview Capital? Or Voss Group?
A surge of panic tightened my grip on the phone.
Lianne’s POV:
A sudden tightening gripped my chest as I asked Alex without thinking, “Who’s on the way? Someone from Bridgeview Capital, or from Voss Group?”
