Chapter 450:
There was nothing left in my stomach. All that came out was bitter bile mixed with the lingering taste of medicine.
“Lianne! You’re awake! Don’t move. Take it easy!” Frank’s voice came from beside me, filled with both relief and surprise.
Immediately, several elite pack healers hurried into the room, bringing with them the heavy scent of medicinal herbs.
The lingering effects of the anesthetics washed over me in waves, leaving my mind sluggish and hazy.
My face was deathly pale. Fever and dehydration had left my lips cracked and bleeding.
“Ethan… where is he?” Ignoring the agony tearing through my body, I ripped the IV from my arm and grabbed Frank’s sleeve tightly.
He looked at me with pain and helpless frustration in his eyes.

He pressed me back onto the bed, forcing me to lie still. “Worry about yourself first! Do you know how close you came to dying? The silver poison had already spread throughout your body. You were that close. Thirty more minutes, and there wouldn’t have been anything anyone could do.”
He drew in a deep breath, and his expression darkened. “Stop thinking about him. Lianne, none of this would have happened without Ethan and all the trouble that comes with him. You and Ruby would have been safe. Since the day he entered your life, all he’s brought you is suffering!”
“Where is he?! Tell me!” I cried out hysterically, struggling to climb out of bed while tears poured down my cheeks. “I saw that dagger go through his chest. It was silver, Frank. A silver dagger will kill him!”
My thoughts were consumed by the sight of Ethan collapsing into a pool of blood. I remembered him kneeling in front of me.
In that moment, every grievance, every attempt to escape him, seemed insignificant. I didn’t care about any of it anymore.
I only wanted to see him. I only needed to know that he was still alive.
“Take me to him… Please, Frank. Just let me see him once.” My fingernails dug into his arm as I pleaded desperately.
Frank looked at me, seeing how close I was to completely falling apart. After a long moment, he let out a weary sigh, a complicated emotion flashing across his eyes.
“You can’t see him anymore.” His voice was low, heavy with sorrow.
My whole body went rigid, and for a moment, it felt as though my heart had stopped beating.
“What?” I stared at him blankly. “What do you mean I can’t see him anymore?”
“About ten minutes after everything happened, the elders of the Thorn Pack sealed the entire area.” Frank deliberately avoided my gaze, sounding rough and exhausted. “They took Ethan away… along with Ivy. It’s now classified as the pack’s highest-level secret. No one knows how Ethan is or where they’ve taken him.”
The last trace of light disappeared from my eyes.
No one knew Ethan’s condition or whereabouts…
A strong metallic taste filled my mouth. I bit down hard on my lip and forced the blood back down.
