Chapter 327:
Ethan’s POV:
After watching the three of them rush out of the lobby, I slowly stepped out from behind the towering marble column.
Hidden beneath the dim lighting, I stared toward the direction Lianne had vanished and exhaled slowly.
Earlier, she’d suddenly turned her head, nearly catching sight of me.
My lips pressed into a thin line while tension made my fingertips tremble faintly.
Without thinking, I almost followed after her, but the instant I moved, I forced myself to stop.
I couldn’t afford to act recklessly.
What place did I still have in her life? To her, I was nothing more than a “driver.” Someone she’d once blocked, only to contact again out of necessity.
The fact that I’d boarded a private jet and rushed over the second I discovered her location was already far beyond what I should’ve done.
If I appeared before her now, all I’d receive would probably be another cold stare and an even stronger determination from her to stay away from me.

My grip tightened around the room key card until the edges dug painfully into my palm.
I kept telling myself to return upstairs and stop hiding in corners like some obsessed fool.
Yet the image of Lianne focusing so completely on the young man carrying Bella, oblivious to everything around her, stirred chaos inside me.
What if she was the one feeling unwell? What if that man harbored ulterior motives toward her?
I hesitated for barely a few seconds before quietly stepping forward at last.
I convinced myself I only needed to make sure she was alright.
As long as I saw she was safe, I wouldn’t allow her to discover I was there or interfere.
Even watching her from afar was better than remaining behind, drowning in worry and helpless thoughts.
Lianne’s POV:
The outpatient department had already shut down for the night, leaving the hospital cloaked in silence and an unsettling chill.
Oscar carried Bella straight into emergency care while I followed close behind, running back and forth to handle paperwork and payments without a moment to breathe.
Only after Bella was pushed into the examination room did I finally stop beside the icy wall, exhausted breaths escaping my lips.
At that moment, I was genuinely grateful Oscar was here. His calm presence held everything together. If I’d been alone, the sudden emergency and endless procedures would’ve completely thrown me into chaos.
After examining Bella, the doctor diagnosed acute food poisoning. Luckily, we’d brought her in early enough, so the situation wasn’t dangerous. She only needed an IV and some observation.
By the time everything settled down, midnight had already passed. Bella lay asleep beneath the effects of the medication, an IV needle taped to her hand while clear liquid slowly dripped through the tube.
The room remained hushed except for the soft rhythm of the IV drops.
Beside the bed, Oscar lowered his voice. “Ms. Riley, I’ll stay here with her tonight. You should go back and rest. We still need to review the files tomorrow morning.”
