Chapter 475:
“The Voss family actually let you in here?” Tracy’s eyes widened in disbelief. It was clear she still held deep distrust toward that cruel family. Then she lowered her voice, her expression growing more complicated. “I ran into Jeremy downstairs just now. He looked awful. His head was still wrapped in bandages, and he was limping. I have a feeling… he came to beg for Ivy.”
Jeremy…
The moment I heard his name, my heart sank.
He was Ethan’s closest friend, yet for some reason, he had always shown Ivy an unusual amount of favoritism.
“That fool is completely blinded by love. I have no idea what kind of spell Ivy cast on him,” Tracy grumbled under her breath, unable to hide her annoyance.

“It’s not very nice to gossip about an injured man.”
A weak, slightly raspy voice suddenly came from behind us.
We turned at once and saw Jeremy standing against the wall at the far end of the hallway. His steps were unsteady, and he looked as though he could barely support himself.
The bandages around his head were marked with faint traces of blood. His face was pale, drained of color. He looked so worn and exhausted, as though he’d been battling a serious illness.
The atmosphere instantly turned awkward.
Tracy pressed her lips together and stayed silent, while I merely nodded at him in greeting.
Before the uncomfortable tension could grow any worse, the ICU door suddenly burst open.
The healer rushed out, excitement written all over her face. Forgetting all manners, she shouted happily, “Ms. Riley! The Alpha is awake! He’s finally awake!”
For a brief second, it felt as though fireworks had exploded inside my mind. Every bit of exhaustion, pain, and anxiety disappeared.
“Ethan…” Acting on instinct, I gripped the wheels of my wheelchair and pushed forward with all my strength, moving so quickly that the chair nearly slipped across the smooth marble floor.
I didn’t care. I rushed straight through the open doorway and into the room.
The moment I stepped inside, I heard violent coughing. Then came a voice so familiar it felt engraved deep within my soul.
Though weak and frail, it carried an unyielding longing.
“Lianne… where is she? I want to see her.”
His hoarse whisper instantly brought tears to my eyes.
“I’m here! Ethan, I’m right here!” I hastily pushed my wheelchair forward until I reached his bedside.
The man lying on the hospital bed slowly turned his head. His intense eyes met mine, and the moment he saw me, all the strain and exhaustion on his face seemed to melt away.
At that moment, his gaze softened, filled with endless tenderness.
Lianne’s POV:
“You… really came.” Ethan’s lips barely moved. His voice was so weak I could hardly hear him.
His hand trembled as he slowly lifted it, trying to touch my face the way he always had. But the tubes and wires attached to his arm limited his movement.
He frowned slightly in annoyance.
At that moment, I couldn’t care less about the doctor’s warnings or the injury in my left leg.
I bit my lip hard and gripped the wheelchair’s armrests. Ignoring the intense pain shooting through my body, I forced myself to stand.
