Chapter 380:
While waiting, I leaned forward slightly, fixing my gaze on Silas. “The Voss Group system crash earlier today…” I paused. “Was that your work?”
Silas didn’t even bother lifting his head. “Yep,” he answered casually. “That was me.” Then he looked up at me slowly, absolutely fearless. “What? You gonna arrest me?”
A mocking smile tugged at the corner of his lips. It looked so much like my own smile that it almost startled me. “You deserved it anyway,” he added coldly. “Because you’re a jerk.”
The word hit harder than I expected, like a needle driven straight into my chest.
Something tightened painfully inside me. After a brief silence, I lowered my voice. “Did your mother tell you that?”
I needed to know.
I needed information about Lianne more desperately than I wanted air itself. If Silas truly was her son, then where was she? Why was she still hiding from me?
Silas was sharp as a tack. He tilted his head back, and those eyes of his held a cunning gleam that seemed to see right through everything. “Don’t treat me like some ordinary little kid,” he said coolly. “I know exactly what you’re doing. You’re trying to trick information out of me.”
Then his lips curled faintly. “But the problem is, you don’t actually know what I want.”
I stared at his small but stubborn face for several long seconds. Then suddenly, I smiled.
“Why wouldn’t I know?” Leaning back lazily into the chair, I crossed one leg over the other as my gaze deepened. “You came here for revenge.”

Silas’s expression shifted slightly. I continued calmly. “You intentionally hacked into the Voss Group system. You deliberately drew my attention. And now you willingly moved into my house.” I looked directly into his eyes. “All because you want to collect evidence against me, so you can destroy me eventually.”
The room fell silent. For the first time since arriving here, Silas froze completely. Clearly, he hadn’t expected me to see through him so easily.
Ethan’s POV
Silas slouched lazily against the sofa, looking completely fearless. “So what if I did?” he said with a shrug. “If you’ve got the guts, throw me out right now.”
He crossed his arms confidently. “The second I walk out that door, tomorrow’s headlines will read: ‘Ethan Voss Abandons His Biological Son.’ The entire city will be gossiping about it.”
A smug grin spread across his little face. “Go ahead. Try me.”
I stared at him for a moment before shaking my head helplessly. Without realizing it, my voice softened. “This house belongs to you too,” I said quietly. “I’m not kicking you out.”
But inwardly, my thoughts were in complete turmoil.
In my entire life, there had only ever been one woman I truly loved. Lianne. Aside from her, I had never allowed any woman to get close to me.
I considered myself scrupulously clean when it came to my private life. So why did this child hate me so deeply? Had Lianne told him that I betrayed her? The thought made my chest tighten painfully.
