Chapter 166:
“Don’t be scared. It was only a dream.” He pressed a kiss to my forehead. “Go to sleep.”
I shut my eyes, but tears slipped from the corners and soaked into the pillow.
Thirteen weeks.
I prayed the baby would stay hidden a little longer.
Before I managed to get away, Ethan absolutely could not find out about this secret.
The following day, I decided to hail a cab and head to the club on my own.
But the moment I stepped out through the villa gates, that familiar black Rolls-Royce was already waiting in silence below the stairs.

The window lowered, exposing Ethan’s sharply cut, indifferent side profile.
“Get in.”
I paused briefly, yet in the end, I still pulled the door open and climbed inside.
“I wrapped up work early this afternoon. I’ll drive you there.” He set the car in motion, his eyes fixed on the road ahead.
I didn’t answer, only turned my head to watch the city blur away beyond the window.
Yet when the car gradually stopped, I realized we had not arrived at the club at all.
“Out.”
Still puzzled, I followed him into an ultra-luxurious high-end jewelry boutique beside it.
The manager had obviously received notice beforehand. He stood waiting at the entrance with several employees, and the instant he saw Ethan, he stepped forward to greet him. “Alpha, welcome. The private VIP room is prepared.”
Ethan kept hold of my hand as he led me into the VIP room. His palm was burning hot, and that heat traveled from my fingertips straight into my chest, setting off a faint, uneasy tremor.
“Bring me your couple rings.” Ethan sat down on the leather couch with one leg crossed over the other, radiating the unmistakable presence of an Alpha.
Lianne’s POV:
I sat in silence while the sales assistant laid out tray after tray of glittering diamond rings with meticulous care.
Ethan turned toward me, his piercing gaze settling on my face with unusual seriousness. “Lianne, doesn’t your hand feel like it’s missing something?”
I froze for a second and reflexively looked down at my bare ring finger.
In the three years we had been together, there had never been a ceremony, and I had never been given the symbol a Luna was supposed to wear.
Back then, simply staying beside him had felt like enough to me, but reality later shattered that illusion in the cruelest possible way.
“Try this one.” Before I could answer, he took my left hand and slid a large pink diamond ring with a flawless cut onto my finger.
Under the lights, the stone cast off a piercing, almost aggressive shine, and its weight was so substantial that my fingertips felt numb.
“It’s too extravagant,” I said with a faintly mocking smile, trying to slip it off. “A ring like this isn’t meant for daily wear, and it doesn’t suit me either.”
“If I say it suits you, then it does.” Ethan kept hold of my hand, his grip tightening with a force that felt nearly compulsive, nearly territorial.
