Chapter 359:
“Lianne, drink some water. Your lips are cracked.” Tracy walked over with a worried expression, pressing a glass into my hand. “Frank already messaged me, he’s got Silas. Just trust him. Ethan’s busy dealing with the chaos at his company. He hasn’t even confirmed the child’s identity yet, so he won’t start a full investigation.”
I took the glass but didn’t drink.
“You don’t understand, Tracy,” I said hoarsely, my eyes tight with anxiety. “You don’t understand what an Alpha’s instincts are like. Silas carries Ethan’s blood. If they’ve even seen each other for a second, Ethan will feel it.”
What terrified me the most wasn’t some unforeseen mishap, but destiny itself.
Just then, the sharp screech of tires tore through the night outside.
My body reacted before my mind did. I shot up from the sofa and ran. I didn’t even stop for slippers.
Barefoot, I rushed down the stairs, the cold floor biting into my skin, but I felt nothing except the pounding in my chest.
“Silas!”
I pushed open the door, and there he was, a small figure standing under the moonlight.

Dark blue hoodie. Small laptop bag. That face, too similar to Ethan’s, calm and composed in a way no child should have been.
“Mommy…” he called softly.
Something inside me broke. All the fear, guilt, and suppressed panic I had been holding in collapsed at once.
I rushed forward and pulled him into my arms, holding him so tightly it felt like I was trying to fuse him back into myself.
“I’m sorry… I’m sorry, Silas…” My voice broke as tears soaked into his shirt. “It’s my fault… I shouldn’t have left you alone… You can blame me, you can be angry at me, just don’t disappear like that again…”
Silas stiffened for a moment, clearly startled, then awkwardly patted my back. “Mommy… I’m sorry too,” he muttered. “I shouldn’t have run off. I just… wanted to see what that scumbag looked like. I wanted to teach him a lesson for you.”
At his words, my chest tightened, but I didn’t have time to question it.
Inside the room, Ruby appeared half-asleep, rubbing her eyes.
The moment she saw Silas, she froze for a second, then screamed in joy and launched herself at him.
“Silas! I’m so glad you’re back! I’ve really missed you!”
Watching them on the carpet, Ruby clinging to him, Silas pretending to be annoyed but still shielding her gently, I finally felt my breath steady again. For the first time in days, my heart loosened.
But that peace was shattered almost immediately.
Frank pulled me out onto the terrace, his expression grave. “Lianne… Silas didn’t just go see Ethan. Do you know what he did today while at the Voss Group?”
My heart lurched. “Didn’t he only go to visit Ethan?”
“He also hacked the entire Voss Group network,” Frank said quietly. “He posted a taunt on their website’s front page, one clearly aimed at Ethan. Silas insisted he had erased all the IP traces, but Ethan is the most powerful Alpha in this region, and his tech team is no joke. It’s just a matter of time before they find us.”
I was stunned and felt the world shift beneath my feet.
Silas had provoked Ethan.
