Chapter 463:
“Lianne, please,” Tracy begged, wrapping both hands around my cold fingers. “You’ve been unconscious for over thirty hours. The fever still hasn’t gone down, and your wolf has gone dormant. Right now your body can’t heal itself. If you keep pushing like this, you could die.”
I might never walk properly again…
Words that would destroy most people barely registered in my mind.
I lowered my eyes to the heavily wrapped leg beneath the blanket. Dark stains had already seeped through the layers of bandages.
But none of it mattered. If my legs couldn’t carry me to Ethan, then they meant nothing to me.
While I had been unconscious, my mind had remained trapped inside that blood-soaked warehouse.
Again and again, I saw Ethan on his knees. Saw the silver blade pierce his chest. Saw the desperate look he gave me before everything fell apart.
There had been a time when I despised him with every part of me. I hated his pride. I hated the way he kept me captive. I hated every wound he had inflicted on my life.

But the moment he threw himself in front of that fatal attack, all of that resentment disappeared.
What remained was crushing guilt and a desperate ache that seemed determined to tear me apart from the inside.
“Take me… to Noah.” My shaking hand closed around Frank’s wrist. “He’s the only one who knows where Ethan was taken. Frank… please. Help me find Noah.”
“You can’t even make it to the door in your condition!” Frank snapped. “Lianne, stop this. The Thorn Pack elders have already cast you out. They won’t allow you anywhere near Ethan. Going after him now is practically a death sentence.”
“Then let me die.” I met his gaze without hesitation. Something reckless burned behind my eyes. “If Ethan’s gone, then there’s nothing left of me anyway. I’d only be breathing, not living. Frank, you know the kind of person I am. If I stay here and do nothing, I’ll hate myself forever.”
Silence settled over the room.
Tracy pressed trembling hands over her mouth to hide her sobs. Frank simply stared at me. The anger faded from his face, replaced by weary acceptance.
He knew there was no changing my mind.
My wolf might have fallen dormant. My body might have been broken. But the stubborn heart of a wolf still remained.
Right now, I wanted only one thing: to find Ethan.
I didn’t care about the freezing blizzards of the Nersard Isles. I didn’t care about ancient witchcraft. I didn’t care how much the Thorn Pack elders despised me.
As long as Ethan was still alive somewhere, I would find a way to reach him.
And if the end waiting for us was darkness, then I would walk into it beside him without regret.
I squeezed my eyes shut as burning tears slipped down my cheeks and disappeared into my hair. “Please… take me to Noah.”
“You’re staying right here.” Frank stood at the end of the bed, determination hardening his features. “Lianne, even if I have to strap you to this bed myself, I’m not letting you leave.”
Weak and exhausted, I turned toward Tracy. She sat beside me, quietly crying.
