Chapter 621:
His response vanished before it ever reached his lips. He broke eye contact almost immediately.
Ethan’s POV
I moved closer, and the overwhelming presence carried by an Alpha smothered the entire courtyard beneath invisible pressure.
Fixing my gaze on Adrian, I spoke slowly and deliberately. “Lianne has already decided to bring Rola before the Pack Council. I won’t stand in her way. And listen carefully. If Rola ever lays a hand on Lianne again, or if you try to bury the truth with influence and power…”
A harsh chuckle escaped me as I stripped away the disguise he had hidden behind for years. “Adrian, I know your hunger for the Thorn Pack’s leadership. You crave the Alpha title. Fine. Chase it if you want. But the moment you start protecting lies the way Rola did, or help silence people to protect her dirty secrets, you’ll watch your entire world collapse before your eyes.”
The desire he had concealed for so many years was dragged into the open. The calm and respectable image he carefully maintained shattered instantly, replaced by a vicious glare twisted with resentment.
After inhaling sharply, he snapped, “Ethan, think clearly! You’re the Alpha of the Thorn Pack! If you continue defending Lianne without restraint, you will be ruined. Did you forget she nearly got you killed?”
I faced him without the slightest disturbance in my chest and said coldly, “I remember perfectly. But I refuse to let anyone rob her of the justice she deserves.”
I understood better than anyone that Lianne had never desired power, wealth, or status within the Thorn Pack. What she sought was painfully simple: the truth behind her father’s death, which had been buried for more than ten years. She wanted the guilty forced to answer for what they had done.

That was why I personally collected the most crucial evidence, even the pieces nearly impossible to uncover, and handed Ivy over to her.
It was the final thing I could do for her.
“For one woman, you’re prepared to tear apart generations of peace within the pack? Rola is elderly. She’s the grandmother who raised you and watched you become who you are. She can’t survive a blow like this!” Adrian argued again, trying to appeal to sentiment instead.
A bitter coldness settled inside me as I met his stare directly. “More than anyone, I wish Rola had never been involved. But reality doesn’t bend to my wishes.”
I adjusted my hold on Ruby and glanced toward the defiant Silas standing nearby before speaking again. “I only returned so my children could spend time within the pack. Don’t bother us.”
“You’re condemning Rola to suffering while she’s still alive! Ethan, are you truly ready to cast aside your own grandmother because of Lianne?” Adrian shouted, fury making his voice shake.
“These are the results of her own choices. They are not mine to carry,” I answered evenly.
I knew them far too well. All they had were excuses, denial, and empty justifications. None of them possessed proof of innocence.
