Rather than cutting him off, I quietly made my way to the sofa, settled in, and watched him in silence.
Lianne’s POV:
When Ethan got into work mode, there was something irresistibly commanding about him.
Every so often, his brows would draw together in concentration. His long fingers tapped lightly against the desk in a steady rhythm. Even the smallest movement carried the confidence of a man accustomed to making decisions that others followed without question.

As I quietly watched him, my thoughts wandered back to the day we first met.
At that time, he was distant, reserved, and unapproachable.
Who would have imagined that we were fated mates? Who would have thought that our lives would still be so tightly intertwined after everything that had happened?
Something stirred inside me. Before I realized it, I had already pulled out my phone and secretly pointed the camera toward him.
On the screen, his profile looked perfect. His long, thick lashes framed his eyes, casting soft shadows on his eyelids. Holding my breath, I tapped the screen lightly, capturing the moment.
The longer I stared at the photo, the harder it became to look away.
Biting my lip, I hesitated for quite some time. Then I created a hidden album on my phone. I named it Ethan, set a complicated password, and carefully moved the photo inside.
Once I finished, I couldn’t help feeling amused by my own behavior.
I was a grown adult, yet here I was, acting like a teenage girl with her first crush.
“If that album only contains pictures of me, don’t you think it’ll get a little boring?”
A deep voice filled with amusement suddenly sounded above me.
The unexpected voice startled me so badly I nearly dropped my phone.
I looked up and realized Ethan had finished his meeting. Somehow, he had walked over without me noticing and was now standing right behind me.
He gazed down at me, mischief dancing in his eyes.
Ignoring my embarrassment, I immediately got to my feet and scolded him. “Why are you out of bed again? Melisa only just left. Do you plan to ignore her medical instructions?”
Ethan seemed completely unfazed by my lecture. He stretched out his hand and effortlessly took the phone from mine.
His fingers moved across the screen and quickly found the hidden album. The smile on his face widened even further.
“From now on, your phone shouldn’t only have these secret photos of me.” He lifted his eyes to meet mine and added with a serious expression, “It should be full of family pictures. The four of us together. Silas and Ruby in the middle, with us standing beside them.”
His words were so gentle that my heartbeat instantly quickened. Even so, I replied vaguely, “We’ll see. It depends on how I’m feeling.”
“In that case…” He bent down slightly, and for once there was a hint of pleading in his voice. “Could my Luna do me the honor of taking a photo with me right now?”
I acted like I was thinking about it, then finally nodded. “Fine. Just one.”
