Chapter 467:
I lowered my gaze to my left leg. The sensation in it was nearly gone now.
Even so, a dull, stubborn pain still lingered in the wound, and the lingering fever made my thoughts drift in and out like smoke.
With my body in this condition, running was impossible. Fighting was a fantasy.
But it didn’t matter.
Even if I had to sit in a wheelchair for the rest of the journey, even if the cold wind tore through me until I broke apart piece by piece, I would still go to him.
Quietly, I contacted a doctor I had once known in the underworld, paying an outrageous sum to arrange a medical flight.
With Silas covering for me, I slipped out under the cover of night, bypassing hospital cameras and pack patrols, and boarded an ambulance bound for the airport.

As the plane rose into the sky, the city lights below faded into scattered points of gold. Strangely, I felt no fear. Only a calm, almost liberating resolve.
More than ten hours later, the plane touched down at a private airport in Thiynia.
The moment the door opened, the cold hit like a blade. Ice-laced wind forced its way under my coat collar, sharp enough to steal my breath.
A violent coughing fit seized me immediately. Every movement sent pain tearing through my lungs and left leg. Cold sweat broke out across my skin.
Seated in my wheelchair, I was carefully guided down the ramp by the medical staff.
Yet even through the haze of pain, the wind here seemed to cut through something in me, clearing my mind with painful clarity.
The first thing I did was message Silas. “I’ve arrived. I’ll bring your dad home soon.”
When I stepped out of the airport terminal, the unfamiliar streets made the world feel distant and unreal, as if I had stepped into someone else’s life.
I raised a hand to call a taxi, intending to head toward the remote location the tracker had marked. But before I could get inside, my phone vibrated violently.
A name lit up the screen. Brian. My breath caught for half a second.
Without hesitation, I rejected the call and blocked the number immediately.
Once, I had thought Brian was someone I could trust, someone who might protect me.
Now I understood the truth. He was part of the reason everything had fallen apart. He was connected to the suffering of my daughter, to the collapse of my life.
There was no way I could ever forgive him.
I put the phone away and got into the taxi.
Half an hour later, the car stopped at the base of a mountain on the outskirts of Thiynia.
Before me stood a massive fortress-like structure, more military installation than hospital. It was the private stronghold of the Thorn Pack.
Security was overwhelming.
Electrified barbed wire crowned towering walls, and armed guards patrolled at precise intervals, their eyes constantly scanning.
Even from inside the car, the pressure of a top-tier pack’s territory pressed against my chest, making it hard to breathe.
