Chapter 759:
As Noah continued to hesitate, fumbling for excuses instead of handing over the beer, the crushing weight that had been pressing down on me finally began to overwhelm me.
I drew in a slow, deep breath before finally speaking the words I had been holding back. “Noah, I’m only going to ask this one more time. None of this was your idea, was it? Ethan sent you. He’s the one behind all of this. He blocked my number, and now he’s trying to stop me from getting drunk.”
I knew Noah wasn’t acting on his own. He was just carrying out Ethan’s orders. I couldn’t bring myself to blame him. All I felt was a crushing sense of hopelessness.
If Ethan had chosen to cast me out of his life, if he had truly decided to disappear from my world forever, then why was he trying to control everything I did? Why did he have to interfere in my life through such sneaky, overbearing methods?
Lianne’s POV
“Ms. Riley, Alpha is only worried about your well-being…” Noah began, trying to explain, but the longer I stared at him, the softer his voice grew.
“That’s enough.” I stopped him, feeling my chest tighten with emotion. My eyes stung, but I held back my tears.

I rose to my feet and looked at the two bottles of beer in Noah’s hands. In that moment, I had no desire for them anymore.
“Noah, tell Ethan something for me,” I said slowly, forcing out each word. “Calling him while I was drunk last night was my mistake. I sincerely apologize for my behavior. Tell him he doesn’t need to worry about me, and that he can stop all this secret concern he’s been showing. From today onward, I promise I’ll never cross the line or disturb him again.”
The calm expression Noah had managed to maintain all night finally cracked under my firm words. His lips parted as if he wanted to respond, but the man who was usually so articulate couldn’t get a single sentence out.
I curled my hands into tight fists, trying to hold on to my composure.
I couldn’t cry. Not here, and certainly not in front of Noah. I knew that breaking down before him would be no different from falling apart in front of Ethan.
“I crossed the line last night,” I continued coldly after a deep breath. “Using someone else’s phone while I was drunk to contact Ethan was wrong, and I own up to that. If he’s angry with me, I deserve it. But I don’t understand this. Since when does he have so much free time that he has to track my every hour? Am I not even allowed to buy beer anymore? Isn’t this… taking things too far?”
Noah stood there in stunned silence, as though he’d only just realized what had really happened.
He looked embarrassed as he quickly defended Ethan. “Ms. Riley, it’s not like he’s tracking you… Alpha didn’t mean it that way. He just…”
