Chapter 537:
But instead, he had devoted the prime years of his life to helping me raise two children.
He patiently sat beside Ruby while she filled pages with her doodles. He spent countless hours helping Silas assemble his model kits.
And what about me? What kind of mother had I been?
Compared to everything Frank had done, my contribution to the children’s lives felt insignificant.

“Thinking about Frank?”
A chilly voice sounded beside me, thick with barely concealed jealousy.
Startled, I turned my head and found myself looking into Ethan’s dark, stormy eyes.
He was jealous of Frank. Not only because Frank had spent several years with me, but because Frank had been there for our children when he couldn’t be.
Another man had watched over his son and daughter, guiding them through their childhood.
For an Alpha as proud as Ethan, that was a wound to his pride that cut deeper than any physical injury.
“I just feel… none of this is fair to him,” I murmured, lowering my gaze. “Ethan, I’m scared to face him. I’m scared he won’t be able to let go of the children.”
“I’ll compensate him,” Ethan replied coldly as he tugged irritably at his collar. “Business opportunities, territory, resources… whatever he wants, the Thorn Pack can provide it.”
“He won’t accept any of it.” I smiled bitterly and shook my head. “You don’t know Frank. He never cared about those things.”
“That’s enough.” Ethan’s voice suddenly turned sharp.
It was as though my defense of Frank had struck a nerve. Suddenly, he reached over and cupped the back of my head.
His gaze locked onto mine, fierce and possessive. This was a sign that the jealousy of his wolf was growing harder and harder to suppress.
The next moment, he pulled me toward him and pressed his lips against mine aggressively.
His kiss left no room for resistance.
It carried a fierce possessiveness, as though he wanted to wipe away every thought of another man lingering in my mind.
His tongue forced its way past my lips, while one arm wrapped securely around my waist, pulling me close to him.
Immediately, the air in the car turned hot and stifling.
Terrified that resisting might aggravate his injuries, I could only endure the relentless kiss. My face flushed and my heart raced wildly.
When he finally pulled away, he still refused to let go of me. He lifted me with no effort and placed me onto his lap, facing him.
The intimate position made my entire body tense. I could feel his firm thighs and the heat radiating from him.
“Lianne,” he called out, holding my gaze.
The cold, intimidating look he usually wore was gone. In its place was a vulnerability so deep and genuine it sent a painful ache through my heart.
Lianne’s POV:
Ethan cupped my face in one hand, the warmth of his skin unsteady against mine as his fingers quivered.
