Chapter 381:
Just as I lifted my hand to touch Silas’s hair, my fingertips barely brushing those soft strands, my phone suddenly vibrated violently in my pocket.
Jeremy.
Assuming he was calling to ask about Silas, I answered impatiently, “What now?”
“Ethan! Something’s wrong!” Jeremy’s voice sounded frantic, almost distorted beneath the chaotic noise in the background. “I’m heading to your place right now! Ivy, Ivy just—”
“What happened?” My brows immediately furrowed as unease swept through me like icy water.
But before Jeremy could answer, a deafening explosion erupted through the phone. The sound was followed by screeching brakes, shattered glass, and panicked screams.
It slammed into my ears hard enough to make my pulse stop for a second.
Then came the piercing crash of breaking glass, followed by the frantic shriek of a car alarm. My heart clenched violently.
“Jeremy!” I barked into the phone. “Jeremy, answer me!” But all I got back was dead silence. Cold and terrifying.

Every Alpha instinct in my body surged awake instantly.
I immediately activated the mind link. “Noah,” I ordered sharply. “Trace the main highway route leading to my villa. Locate Jeremy’s vehicle immediately. He may have been in a serious accident!”
“No need.” A calm voice interrupted from beside me.
I turned sharply toward Silas. The boy sat there with astonishing composure, fingers flying across his phone screen so quickly they almost left afterimages.
“Real-time traffic data shows complete gridlock two kilometers from here,” he said coolly. “Multiple vehicles stopped. Based on the sudden congestion pattern, the accident most likely happened there.” He turned the phone screen toward me. “Emergency services haven’t arrived yet.”
I stared at him silently for several seconds. His reaction speed. His technical skills.
Even my elite security team wouldn’t have processed everything that quickly.
“Stay here,” I ordered coldly while tossing him the highest-level backend access credentials for the Voss Group systems. “And don’t leave this house.” I paused deliberately. “If you step outside even once, forget about ever getting that server you wanted.”
Without waiting for Silas’s response, I grabbed my car keys and rushed out of the villa immediately.
By the time I arrived at the accident scene, the entire road had descended into chaos.
Shattered debris littered the highway. Jeremy’s flashy sports car had been crushed into twisted scrap metal in the middle of the road.
The ambulance had already taken him away moments before I arrived.
Without wasting another second, I spun the car around and drove straight toward the hospital, ignoring multiple red lights along the way.
The moment I reached the emergency room corridor, however, I saw someone I absolutely did not expect. Ivy.
She leaned weakly against the cold hospital wall, crying pitifully as tears ruined her makeup. Her slender body trembled so violently she looked moments away from collapsing.
“Ethan…” The instant she spotted me, she rushed toward me desperately as if I were the only thing she could cling to. “You’re finally here…”
I sidestepped her immediately. My eyes turned ice-cold as I stared down at her. “Who informed you about this?”
