Chapter 470:
“Adrian, perfect timing!” Evelyn immediately pointed at me accusingly. “This woman actually tracked us all the way to Thiynia! She must’ve heard Ethan was critically injured and rushed here hoping to claim a share of his assets. Someone this shameless deserves to be thrown into the frozen lake and taught a lesson!”
Ignoring Evelyn’s accusations, I lifted my head and met Adrian’s eyes steadily.
“I don’t have any hidden agenda,” I said firmly, emphasizing every word. “I only want to see Ethan. Even if I have to stay in the hallway, even if I can only watch from a distance, I just want to be near him.”
“Near him?” Evelyn scoffed viciously. “You’re just waiting for him to die so you can steal his inheritance!”
“Enough!” Adrian cut her off sharply, irritation flashing across his face as his brows drew together. “Evelyn, stop making baseless accusations. Things are already complicated enough.”
He motioned for the two warriors to step back, then turned a cold look on Evelyn. “Go back inside. I’ll handle this.”
Evelyn shot me one last venomous glare, stomped her heel in frustration, and finally spun around before storming back into the hospital.

Adrian dismissed the remaining onlookers, leaving the area wrapped in an uneasy silence broken only by the mournful howl of the wind.
He stopped in front of me, his tall figure casting a shadow over my wheelchair, his expression unreadable.
“Rola doesn’t want to see you,” he said bluntly, his words cutting straight to the point. “She falls apart every time she hears your name, so she asked me to deal with this instead.”
A bitter smile tugged at my lips.
“I’m aware the pack will never welcome me,” I whispered, my downcast eyes hiding my hurt. “But all I want is to remain by his side until he regains consciousness.”
I expected Adrian to drive me away just as Evelyn had. Instead, after a long silence, he laid out a condition that made my blood run cold.
“We can allow you to stay,” he said slowly, his voice carrying clearly through the icy air. “But only under one condition. The Alpha’s children must return to us.”
My heart lurched. “What are you talking about?” I asked, staring at him in disbelief.
“Ruby and Silas.” Adrian’s tone remained detached. “They carry Ethan’s purest bloodline. They represent the future of the Thorn Pack. They can’t continue growing up by your side. They must return to the Voss family and be raised as rightful heirs.”
“No.” My refusal came instantly, without the slightest hesitation.
My children meant everything to me. They were the reason I had survived those darkest years.
I could lose my legs. I could lose my life. But I would never surrender my children.
“Don’t reject it so quickly, Lianne.” Adrian remained unfazed by my reaction. Leaning slightly closer, he lowered his voice, targeting the one weakness he knew I couldn’t ignore. “Let’s make a deal. If you agree to transfer custody of the children and sign a waiver relinquishing your rights, I’ll grant you unrestricted access to this hospital. You can stay by Ethan’s bedside day and night until he wakes up.”
I went completely still. My thoughts froze.
Adrian stood before me, the wind tugging at the hem of his coat.
