Chapter 564:
“As long as you don’t leave me, you can do anything you want,” he said without hesitation, every word filled with unwavering conviction. “If you want to hide from the world, I’ll build walls around you. If you need a shoulder to cry on, I’ll always be there. Lianne, I’m not afraid of getting tired. The only thing I fear is you deciding that you no longer want me.”
My heart trembled under the weight of his gaze.
For one brief moment, I almost asked him about my father’s death.
I wanted to take the risk. I wanted to find out whether the man who loved me so completely could tell me the truth. I wanted to know if he would be willing to pull away the veil hiding the Thorn Pack’s secrets for me.
The question rose to my lips. But in the end, I couldn’t make myself ask.
It wasn’t because I doubted Ethan. It wasn’t because I believed he would choose the pack over me.
I just couldn’t bring myself to force him into such a cruel position.

No matter what choice he made, it would leave scars that would never heal.
And if someone had to carry the weight of that impossible decision, I would rather bear it alone than watch him suffer through it.
Lianne’s POV
The flight back from Gelidmark wasn’t long. The sight that greeted me at the arrivals gate nearly sent me tripping over my own feet.
There, right at the front of the crowd, stood Tracy and Jeremy, their fingers laced together without a hint of hesitation.
And Jeremy was holding an enormous bouquet of red roses, beaming like he’d just won the lottery.
“Mommy, didn’t Jeremy say he wanted to throw Tracy into the den near the forest?” Silas raised his small face to mine, genuinely puzzled. “I thought they couldn’t stand each other. What’s with all this closeness?”
A laugh escaped me before I could hold it back.
Jeremy’s smile went stiff, and he rushed out, “Arguments can bring people closer, Silas! I’m Tracy’s official number one protector now, alright?”
Ethan slipped an arm around my shoulders and murmured near my ear with obvious amusement, “If Jeremy, the notorious playboy, is willing to settle down, then he must really mean it this time.”
I glanced at the genuine happiness shining in Tracy’s eyes, and the burden weighing on my heart finally eased.
After we got into the car, I deliberately pulled Tracy into the backseat with me and banished the two men to the front.
Lowering my voice, I asked cautiously, “Have you told Frank yet? About you and Jeremy?”
The smile on Tracy’s face flickered for a moment before she shook her head, a trace of guilt flashing through her eyes. “Absolutely not! You know Frank’s temper. If he finds out I’m dating someone from the Thorn Pack, he’ll lose his mind.”
“Tracy, you really need to think this through.” I squeezed her hand, my expression becoming more serious. “Jeremy is Ethan’s friend, and he helped Ivy do some reckless things before. If he chooses the wrong side again when it truly matters, what will you do?”
