Chapter 476:
My body nearly gave out. Cold sweat instantly soaked my back, but I still staggered to his bedside and wrapped my hands around his cold hand.
“Don’t move. Please don’t move.” My nose stung as tears poured uncontrollably down my cheeks. “I’m here. I’m staying right here.”
Feeling the warmth of my touch, Ethan weakly tightened his fingers around mine.
His eyes lingered on my swollen, tear-streaked face. There was obvious pain in his gaze, but I also saw a sense of peace and contentment, as though he had finally recovered something precious he’d once believed was gone forever.
We had endured everything together. We had survived the disaster, and we had both come through the silver poison that had nearly claimed us.
Looking into those exhausted yet affectionate eyes, I buried that one-month agreement deep inside my heart, locking it away where I wouldn’t have to face it.
Leaning close to him, I felt his faint but steady breath brush against my skin as I whispered softly, “Ethan, don’t be scared. I’ll stay with you. We won’t be separated ever again.”
After hearing my promise, a fragile smile appeared on his lips. Completely at ease at last, he slowly closed his eyes and drifted into a peaceful sleep.
Three days later, the endless snowstorms in Thiynia finally began to ease.
Ethan’s condition had stabilized, and he had been transferred from the suffocating ICU to a regular room on the top floor.
Calling it a regular room hardly did it justice. It looked more like a luxurious presidential suite.

Massive floor-to-ceiling windows revealed endless snow-covered mountains outside. Thick cashmere carpets covered the floor, and the faint scent of cedarwood filled the air.
After carefully explaining every detail of Ethan’s care to me, the healer left her contact information and departed.
I slowly wheeled myself into the quiet room. Without the advanced monitoring devices beside the bed, I might have mistaken this place for a vacation resort.
“What are you thinking about?”
Ethan’s voice pulled me out of my thoughts.
He was leaning against the headboard, wearing a soft silk hospital gown.
I snapped back to my senses and moved closer. My eyes drifted unconsciously toward his chest.
Even with the fabric covering him, I could almost picture the horrifying wound underneath.
“Does it still hurt?” I reached out, wanting to touch the injury, but stopped halfway, my heart aching unbearably.
He caught my hand, pressed my palm gently against his warm cheek, then smiled reassuringly. “It doesn’t hurt anymore. As long as you’re safe, the injury means nothing. I’m an Alpha, remember? My healing abilities are much stronger than you think.”
The more lightly he spoke about it, the heavier the guilt inside me became.
After a long moment of hesitation, I looked into his deep eyes, which seemed to understand everything. Gathering all my courage, I finally asked the question I had been wanting to ask.
“Ethan… did you know all along that Ruby and Silas are your children?” I held my breath, my voice barely above a whisper. “You’ve known the truth this whole time and just pretended not to, haven’t you?”
