Chapter 482:
The moment Ethan’s name was mentioned, pain clenched around my heart.
I immediately grabbed Tracy’s sleeve, my expression more desperate than ever.
“That’s exactly why you can’t tell him,” I pleaded, staring into her eyes. “This was my choice. All I want is one month beside him. Tracy, please. I’m begging you. Don’t let him find out.”
“Fine,” Tracy finally conceded with a resigned sigh.
A feeling of tranquility settled over me. I gathered a few fragile moonflowers and spent a peaceful while with Tracy in the garden.
The evening breeze swept through the sea of blossoms, creating a gentle whispering sound among the petals.
Suddenly, I noticed Jeremy walking toward us from a distance.
The tension between him and Tracy was obvious before either of them even spoke.
“Back again, are you? You just keep showing up,” Tracy said, rolling her eyes and crossing her arms, her face full of irritation.
Jeremy sneered. “As if I wanted to be here.” He gestured toward a black SUV parked nearby. “Do you have any idea how chaotic Thiynia is right now? You’re an outsider wandering around at night. Are you trying to get yourself killed, or just make more trouble for Lianne?”

“You—”
Before another argument could erupt, I coughed softly and interrupted. “That’s enough. Tracy, listen to Jeremy and head back with him. You’re unfamiliar with this place. If he’s looking out for you, I’ll feel much more at ease.”
Tracy bit her lip, clearly unwilling to accept Jeremy’s help.
But when she looked at my pale face, her resistance gradually softened. She crouched down and adjusted my blanket once more. “I’m only agreeing because I don’t want you worrying about me,” she muttered. “It’s definitely not because I’m scared of him.”
I laughed softly and nodded. Then I watched the two of them walk away.
Jeremy could be harsh with his words, yet when they climbed into the car, he automatically lifted a hand to protect Tracy’s head from hitting the doorframe.
Once I was on my own, I started rolling my wheelchair back toward the hospital room. Right as I reached the elevator, I came across the young witch I had seen in the ICU a few days before.
She had shed the heavy sterile suit and now wore a simple, light gray dress, her long hair loosely pulled back. Her striking beauty carried an aura of wisdom, mystery, and quiet elegance.
Lianne’s POV:
“I was actually on my way to find you.” The young witch approached with a gentle smile. “My name is Melisa Davis. The Alpha specifically asked me to meet you around this time and check the condition of your leg.”
A bittersweet ache spread through my heart.
Even confined to a bed and barely able to move, Ethan still knew when I would come downstairs and when I would return.
