Chapter 339:
There was no possibility our paths would ever cross again. What had happened last night had only been an illusion caused by the drug.
Ethan’s POV
The black Bentley moved smoothly through the streets of Queen District. The temperature inside the car was cool.
With an icy expression, I worked through documents on the tablet resting in my lap, swiftly handling urgent matters related to the Voss Group. This trip had been too sudden, leaving most decisions to be handled remotely.
Last night’s intimacy with Lianne still felt unreal, like a dream I hadn’t fully awakened from. But what consumed me more was uncovering who had dared to drug her.
The image of her lying in the restroom replayed vividly in my mind, reigniting the fury simmering inside my chest.
At that moment, Noah’s voice sounded through the mind link. “Alpha, it’s confirmed. Mark from the Power Group orchestrated everything with his people. We’ve already cut off all their funding sources, and several of their core projects have been suspended for serious violations.”
“That’s still not enough.” I looked coldly at the passing cityscape beyond the tinted window, my voice sharp as frost. “I want the entire Power Group erased from Queen District.”

At first, I had assumed Lianne was simply drunk. But later, the unnatural heat radiating from her body and the way she gradually lost control made the truth painfully obvious: she had been drugged.
She was someone I couldn’t even bring myself to raise my voice at. Yet those disgusting bastards had actually dared to drug her? I would make them suffer for it.
Destroying them was easy for me. What I truly wanted was for them to experience complete despair, to watch everything collapse around them with absolutely no way to recover.
“Also,” I added after a brief pause, my tone calming slightly, “bring the driver from Brinewick to Queen District. If Lianne insists on thanking the person who helped her last night face-to-face, I’ll need someone to play the role.”
“Understood,” Noah replied immediately.
After ending the call, I leaned back against the leather seat, visibly fatigued. I shrugged off my suit jacket and slowly undid several buttons near my collar.
The bite mark on my shoulder was still there. Lianne had left it on me last night after losing control. The expensive fabric brushed against the wound, causing a faint sting, though it had nearly healed already. Still, I had no desire for it to disappear.
This was Lianne’s mark on me. Something I hadn’t even dared to hope for during the past three years.
Part of me even wished it would remain there forever, so I could look at it whenever I wanted, a reminder that last night had truly happened. A reminder that, for one brief moment, she had held onto me just as desperately as I had held onto her.
The ringing of my phone abruptly interrupted my thoughts. Jeremy was calling.
“Hey, I heard you ran off to Queen District?” he teased the moment I answered. He clearly knew why I was here.
