Chapter 526:
The management systems and risk-control strategies he described were remarkably forward-thinking. Even with my years of business experience, I couldn’t help being impressed.
“If everything continues according to plan,” I asked casually, “what kind of influence will the pack have in the future?”
Ethan fell silent for a moment. His gaze shifted toward the window. As he spoke, his tone stayed calm, yet the vision he described extended far beyond business. “I’ll expand into neighboring countries and establish a cross-border trade network for werewolves. Eventually, packs across the world will be able to trade under a shared system of rules. Smaller packs won’t have to surrender simply because they lack resources. Stronger packs, on the other hand, will be responsible for maintaining stability. I want to create a werewolf civilization that no longer survives through violence and plunder alone.”
For a brief moment, I found myself staring at him in a daze.

The man before me no longer seemed like the possessive Ethan who held onto me with almost frightening devotion. He looked like a king with the ambition to change the future of his people.
“Lianne.” He suddenly turned toward me. His eyes were intense, and his deep voice carried a rough edge that made my heart tremble. “Do you want to build that future with me? Will you stand beside me and watch that dream become reality?”
My heart skipped a beat.
The woman who stood at his side could only be his Luna.
My grip tightened around the pen.
My thoughts were a mess, but I forced a smile and hid behind a casual excuse. “It’s an incredible dream, and I would love to see it come true. But I know my own abilities. I’m only a designer. I don’t think I could manage a trade zone on that scale.”
“As long as you stay by my side, no one would dare question your position.” Ethan looked as though he wanted to continue. His eyes were filled with affection so overwhelming it felt almost suffocating.
A wave of guilt made me avert my gaze. Desperate to steer the conversation elsewhere, I forced an eager smile. “To be honest, my biggest dream has always been jewelry design. You can teach me all the business strategies you want, Ethan, but when it comes to what I truly love… I would still choose gemstones over balance sheets any day.”
Ethan wasn’t fooled by my obvious attempt to change the subject. He set the pen on the table, and the atmosphere in the room instantly grew colder.
“Lianne, look at me.” He sounded slightly cold, as though he could see straight through me. “Were you never intending to complete the bonding with me once we return home?”
Bonding was more than a ceremony. It was the joining of two souls, the final rite that publicly confirmed a mate bond in front of the entire pack.
