Chapter 247:
Cloth tore violently as he ripped off Adrian’s mint-scented coat from my body and threw it aside like it meant nothing.
“What are you doing? Let go of me! Ethan, have you lost your mind?” I fought back with everything I had. The strain tore open the wounds on my knees again, and blood quickly stained the sheets.
Ethan had lost all restraint, like a beast driven by instinct. He pinned my arms down as his heated kisses fell against my neck, rough and punishing.
A wave of cold shame washed over me, and my tears soaked into the pillow beneath my face.
“I hate you… Ethan, I hate you…” My voice broke as despair took over.
At those words, he suddenly stopped. Lifting his head, his gaze turned hollow and chilling.

He wiped away my tears, a cold smile slowly curving on his lips.
“Go ahead and hate me. Lianne, this bond exists on my terms. Are you planning to leave? Unless I decide otherwise, you’ll stay with me for the rest of your life.”
Lianne’s POV
After Ethan threw those vicious words at me the night before, he did not leave.
Instead, he remained there, fully dressed beside me, a presence that felt immovable, responsible on the surface and cold to the bone.
I lay awake the whole night, staring into the darkness, listening to the wind rustle through the leaves beyond the window, utterly unable to sleep.
It was only when the first trace of morning light slipped into the room that exhaustion finally pulled me under and dropped me into a deep, empty sleep.
By the time I woke again, the sun was already blazing through the curtains.
I turned my head and froze. Ethan was still there.
He was lying on his side, that infuriatingly handsome face only a few inches from mine.
Everything from the night before, the humiliation, the venom in every word he had said, surged back at once. The blood drained from my face, and my stomach twisted violently.
Biting down hard, I grabbed the bedframe and tried to push myself up. But as soon as my feet touched the floor, I swayed and nearly fell.
A pair of strong hands reached out at once, locking around my arms and steadying me.
“Don’t move.” Ethan’s voice was low and hoarse, still heavy with sleep.
I shrank back on instinct, as if a poisonous snake had brushed against me, and slammed against the headboard. My eyes blazed openly with disgust and hatred.
His hands remained suspended for a second, a dark flicker crossing his eyes before he slowly pulled them away.
Ignoring the pain pulsing through my body, I made myself walk to the bathroom, one step at a time.
When I came back after washing up, he was standing right outside the door.
Astonished, I let out a sharp breath and leaned away without thinking, only for him to bend down and gather me into his arms with ease.
