Chapter 801:
“No.” I refused immediately, leaving no room for discussion. “Your condition is too unstable. You could break down at any moment. Going in will only make things worse. Stay here with me and don’t overexert yourself.”
She parted her lips, clearly wanting to protest, but before any words came out, all the color drained from her face.
I watched her delicate fingers fly to her temple, her body beginning to sway violently.
“Lianne?” My heart dropped as I quickly reached out to support her.
“I’m okay… just a little dizzy…” she whispered, trying to keep her footing, but her once-bright eyes lost focus in an instant.
Before I could react, all the strength left her body, and she crumpled into my arms.
“Lianne!” I shouted, panic coursing through me.
At that moment, I couldn’t think about Tracy in the operating room or Jeremy, who was on the verge of losing control. I only managed to say, “Call me if anything happens!” before lifting the unconscious Lianne into my arms and racing toward the specialized medical ward.
After making sure Lianne was settled, I went straight to my private warehouse.
The moment I pushed open the heavy iron door, I saw Melisa sitting calmly on a plain wooden chair. Her elegant business suit was spotless, and not a single strand of her carefully styled hair was out of place. She looked more like a guest attending an upscale cocktail party than someone being held captive.
“Ethan, you’re later than I expected,” she said, raising her eyes with unsettling composure. “You’re not going to hurt me, are you? You still need me.”

I had no interest in playing games. I walked over and stood before her, my gaze as cold as ice. “Where’s the antidote? Give it to me.”
“The antidote is in the suitcase your men confiscated,” she answered, casually smoothing her skirt. “But that’s only a partial version. The complete formula exists only in my head.”
“You poisoned Lianne over your family’s little financial trouble?” I stepped even closer. The raw Alpha dominance emanating from me was so thick it made the air stifling.
“I didn’t have a choice!” she shot back, lifting her head to reveal her red-rimmed eyes. “Everyone has been using me. The elders keep pressuring me, my family keeps cornering me, and even that old fox Philip has been plotting behind my back. No one has ever cared about what I’m going through. This was the only way I could protect myself.”
Her shameless attempt to justify herself only made my anger burn hotter.
My hand moved before I could think. I seized her slender neck and forced her back against the chair.
“I don’t care about your suffering or your excuses.” My voice was as piercing as a knife, my fingers tightening around her throat. “Give me the antidote. If you keep testing my patience, I’ll wipe out your family, then come back to deal with you.”
Even as her face turned red from the lack of air, Melisa never begged.
She stared straight into my eyes with stubborn defiance, certain I wouldn’t kill her.
With a look of disgust, I let go.
