Chapter 536:
She stared at Ethan with cold, piercing eyes. Her voice was icy as she said, “Are you really going to defy the entire pack? For the sake of one woman, you’re willing to put your life on the line and throw away your dignity?”
“My dignity has nothing to do with staying in a hospital bed,” Ethan replied as he rose to his feet.
Despite his injuries, the commanding presence radiating from him was as powerful and intimidating as ever.
“You!” Rola shook with anger. Suddenly, she pressed a hand against her chest. The color drained from her face, and her breathing grew increasingly strained.
“Ma’am!” Melisa rushed forward immediately, catching her before she fell. She quickly began emergency treatment while issuing urgent orders. “Her heart is constricting from emotional distress. Quickly, bring oxygen and nitroglycerin!”
Watching Rola in such obvious pain filled me with guilt.
After all, she was Ethan’s grandmother. She was the person he respected most, the one who had devoted herself to protecting the pack.
“Ethan, maybe we should stay a few more days,” I said quietly, tugging at his sleeve. “At least until your condition is more stable and Rola’s condition improves…”
Ethan’s gaze settled on me, his dark eyes steady and resolute.
He clasped my hand firmly, the strength of his grip catching me off guard.
“Noah is downstairs waiting for us,” he said firmly. “Lianne, I’ve already made myself clear. I’m bringing our children back today. No one is going to stop me.”

Without sparing Rola a glance, he took my hand and led me straight out of the room.
Soon, a black Rolls-Royce raced along the highway, while the landscape beyond the windows streaked past in a blur.
In the end, Ethan had taken me away from the hospital.
I knew exactly what this departure meant. The fragile relationship that had barely existed between Rola and me was now completely destroyed.
By this point, she probably hated me more than ever.
I leaned back into the soft leather seat and stared blankly out the window.
It was fine. In just a few days, I would be gone. By then, she would no longer have any reason to waste her energy hating me.
She would be occupied with finding a new Luna for Ethan and busy removing every trace that I had ever existed in their lives. Oddly enough, that thought eased the heaviness in my heart slightly.
The car entered the airport expressway, passing beneath a series of enormous LED billboards that lit up the road.
Then one image caught my attention. It was Frank.
In the advertisement, he was dressed in a perfectly fitted navy-blue suit. His smile was gentle and reassuring, while his eyes reflected the calm confidence and wisdom of a mature man.
His career had continued to thrive, and he had become one of the most influential figures in the pack’s business sector.
The moment I saw that familiar face, I felt a dull ache in my heart.
Over the years, Frank could have gone much further. He could have focused entirely on his ambitions, found someone he loved, and built an even brighter future.
