Chapter 35

Chapter 35:
“You’re useless and can’t even manage a project. All you do is target Ivy. Why don’t you just die?”
“I heard you’d do anything to climb the ladder. What a bitch.”
Reading those harsh words, my mind went completely numb.
I felt hollow, like there was no space left for me in the world anymore.
Lianne’s POV:
With a blank expression, I scrolled through the comments, though inside, a cold laugh echoed.

So this was the plan Nancy and Ivy’s team had come up with. They pushed everything onto me and used my name to clean up Ivy’s mess.
Without rushing, I saved every comment and each leaked photo. All of it would be useful later.
After logging out of my account, I called the studio manager. My tone turned sharp. “Track down whoever leaked those photos. And get me all the surveillance footage from the dressing room yesterday. I want it now.”
Once that was settled, I dialed Nancy’s number.
“Hello, Lianne! How’s your rest at home going?” Nancy’s voice carried a false warmth that didn’t reach her words.
I didn’t bother playing along. “Drop the act, Nancy. The things circulating online, that was your doing, wasn’t it?”
“Alpha assigned me to handle PR, and the order was clear—get rid of any negative rumors about Ivy, no matter the cost.” A trace of smugness slipped into her tone. “If Ivy’s image stays clean, then someone else has to take the fall. That just happens to be you.”
“Did Ethan tell you to do this, or did you come up with it yourself?” My grip on the phone tightened.
“It was my idea, but even if he knew, he wouldn’t have a problem with it.” Nancy let out a quiet laugh. “Don’t you believe me? Or are you afraid to find out?”
There was no way I would take that bet.
I understood it too clearly. In Ethan’s eyes, I would never come close to Ivy.
If it meant protecting her, he wouldn’t hesitate to let me deal with the fallout. Letting me take the blame, letting me be torn apart by rumors, that was something he could accept without question.
Not long after I ended the call, the studio manager sent over the surveillance footage.
As I played it, every second made things clearer. Ivy could be seen picking apart the makeup artist’s work, frame by frame, without missing a single detail.
That alone proved everything. The so-called accident with the makeup wasn’t an accident at all. It had been arranged from the start.
I paused at the most telling moment, captured the frame, and sent it straight into Ivy’s team group chat. Then I added a message. “You have thirty minutes to issue a public apology. If not, this footage goes straight to every major outlet.”
The chat went quiet the moment it was sent.
But instead of an apology, my phone lit up with an incoming call. Ethan’s name appeared on the screen.
For a brief second, something stirred inside me.
