Chapter 361:
“Frank, please leave already. Stop building your whole life around me. You deserve someone who can actually love you back instead of wasting your years on someone who never will.” My voice shook violently, every word carving through my chest like a blade.
For three years, he had stood beside me like an unbreakable wall, shielding me whenever life collapsed around us.
And the kinder he became, the heavier my guilt grew. I already owed him more than I could ever repay.
Tracy walked over with a sigh and gently squeezed my hand. “Lianne, you know how stubborn he is. Once Frank decides something, nobody can stop him. Just let him come. Right now, we need every bit of help we can get.”
Another weary smile crossed Frank’s face, though determination still burned clearly in his eyes. “Don’t worry about me, Lianne. I’m single. Acting is the only thing in my life besides you and Silas. Looking after him these past years became natural to me. Watching him grow up honestly means more to me than anything else. I’ll be living a life without purpose if I leave you both.”
His voice softened, almost fragile. “I understood a long time ago that you’d never love me the same way. I accepted that already. But taking care of you became part of my life. Please, don’t take that away from me too.”
“What about your parents?” I asked quietly, making one final attempt. “They still want you to settle down someday and have a family of your own.”

Frank said nothing after that. He only kept looking at me with stubborn, unwavering eyes.
Tracy gently pulled me aside and lowered her voice. “Let him stay with us for now. Escaping Ethan matters most. Once we’re safe, I’ll talk to Frank properly. But every second we waste here gives Ethan more time to catch us.”
My gaze drifted toward Ruby sleeping inside while clutching her doll tightly against her chest. Then I looked back at Frank. In the end, I gave in.
I closed my eyes and nodded heavily. “Fine. Pack everything. We’re leaving now.”
Ten minutes later, several suitcases had been thrown together in a rush.
Tracy remained in the living room with the children while I hurried through the bedroom, clearing out anything that could leave a trace for Ethan.
Night had swallowed the sky completely, and the streetlights outside painted the ground in a ghostly glow.
Frank arrived behind the house in a black SUV fitted with foreign plates. He had borrowed it from a friend to avoid Ethan’s trackers.
Ruby slept quietly in my arms, her tiny body warm against my chest, carrying that soft baby scent that always comforted me.
Silas stayed close behind me with the heavy laptop bag hanging from his shoulder. His small face looked frighteningly serious, his eyes carrying a cold calm no child should possess.
Looking at him made my chest tighten painfully. He resembled Ethan too much. Not only in appearance, but in the terrifying composure he showed under pressure. That sharp Alpha instinct was exactly the same.
“Get inside,” Frank urged quietly.
After double-checking that the water and electricity were off, Tracy slipped into the front passenger seat.
