Chapter 275:
I cast one final glance around the bedroom, the wool rug he had chosen with his own hands, the books we had read side by side, and his lingering scent still hanging in the air.
With my bag over my shoulder, I slipped out the door in silence.
A black SUV sat waiting in the darkness beyond the villa, its lights shut off.
I pulled open the door and slid into the front passenger seat, my movements firm and unhesitating.

“Let’s go,” I said quietly.
Snow crunched beneath the wheels. As the engine growled to life, we left the Thorn Pack behind for good.
I slowly lifted my hand and gently yet firmly rested it against my still-flat stomach through the thick layers of my clothes.
“Goodbye, Ethan. We won’t see each other again,” I whispered to myself, watching the territory shrink into a single dot in the rearview mirror.
Lianne’s POV:
Brinewick was a seaside town.
The sea breeze, tinged with salt, swept lightly across my face, carrying with it a rare and calming peace.
I stood midway up the hillside, looking down at the glittering stretch of ocean below. This was my refuge, the place where I had remained hidden for the past three years.
After fleeing the Thorn Pack, I had concealed my identity and taken on a modest but demanding position at Nexith Group. I was no longer that helpless Omega who relied on an Alpha, but a woman earning her own way in the world.
And yet, the resort project, backed by a total investment of two billion dollars, had come to a standstill because of one stubborn homeowner who refused to budge.
The investors had made their stance clear: the matter had to be settled within a week.
This was the fifth time I had come to this run-down cottage.
I pulled over, put on my hard hat, swapped into flat shoes from the trunk, walked to the shut iron gate, and knocked with courtesy. “Hello, is anyone there?”
“Get the hell out! I’m not leaving! Touch my house if you’ve got the guts!” A rough yell rang out from inside.
I inhaled deeply and answered with practiced patience. “I’m from Nexith Group, and I’d like to talk about your relocation compensation. We can settle this properly. There’s no reason to be so hostile.”
“No talking! Hand me five million dollars, and I’ll move out right now!”
I pressed at my temples, where a dull ache had already begun to pulse.
The house was not even fifty square meters. The neighbors had been delighted to get just over a million dollars. Five million dollars? That was utterly ridiculous.
At that moment, a broad-shouldered middle-aged man stepped outside and looked at me from head to toe. “Can you guarantee five million dollars?”
“Under the regulations, you’re only entitled to a little over eight hundred thousand dollars. The company is willing to raise it to one million because of your special circumstances, and that is the final offer.” I met his gaze evenly.
