Chapter 520

Chapter 520:
“I’m telling the truth!” Jeremy cried. “I swear on the Moon Goddess!” He paced the room restlessly, looking like a man whose world had been turned upside down. “She wouldn’t let go of my tie,” he continued miserably. “Then she dragged me into her room and…” He ran a hand through his hair in frustration. “She was the aggressor! I barely had a chance to react!”
The more he talked, the more aggrieved he sounded. Suddenly, he yanked down the collar of his shirt. A faint mark lingered on the side of his neck.
“Look! She bit me!” he declared. “And after everything, she vanished before dawn without even a word! Do you know how frustrating that is? I’ve never been treated like this in my life!”
I was speechless. As Jeremy continued ranting, a memory surfaced from years ago.
Back when we were still living overseas, Tracy had once gotten thoroughly drunk. At some point, she’d been flipping through a magazine and became completely captivated by a male model featured inside. I could still remember her dreamy expression. “If I ever got the chance to spend a night with a man who looked like that,” she’d sighed dramatically, “I’d consider my life complete.”
And Jeremy… ignoring his infuriating personality for a moment, there was no denying he was ridiculously handsome. Combined with his tall, athletic build, he looked as though he’d stepped straight out of one of Tracy’s fantasies.
A horrifying realization slowly dawned on me. Could it be… that Tracy had actually mistaken Jeremy for the embodiment of her ideal type and treated him as a one-night fling?

Lianne’s POV:
Suppressing the shock threatening to overwhelm me, I grabbed my phone with shaky fingers. “I’ll call Tracy right now and ask her what happened…”
“Don’t.” Ethan lifted a hand and stopped me. His eyes moved to Jeremy, sharp and cold enough to cut through steel. “Let him explain everything first. Jeremy, you had better tell the truth. You know what will happen if you’re lying.”
Jeremy reluctantly recounted every detail of the previous night.
When he finished, he added through clenched teeth, “Before she left, she wrote a note and left it on the pillow. She said… she said I wasn’t bad in bed, but my personality sucked, and she never wanted to see me again. Seriously, who does she think I am? Some kind of escort she can call whenever she wants?”
I had no words, just an awkward, embarrassed smile.
It sounded exactly like something Tracy would do.
When she was sober, she was quiet and reserved. But once alcohol got involved, she became bold and reckless enough to do anything.
“Where is she now?” I asked immediately.
Jeremy replied bitterly, “I already checked with the front desk. She checked out hours ago.”
I quickly called Tracy’s number. The phone rang for what felt like forever. Just as I thought it would go to voicemail, she finally answered.
The moment the call connected, loud noises flooded through the speaker. Among them, I could clearly hear an airport announcement: “Passengers traveling on flight…”
“Tracy! Are you at the airport?” I blurted out.
