Chapter 350

Chapter 350:
Silas had inherited Ethan’s Alpha lineage almost perfectly. Ever since childhood, he had shown abilities far beyond those of ordinary werewolf children. He possessed not only frightening intelligence, but also an incredibly rare talent for concealing his scent completely.
That meant standard search techniques would be ineffective against him.
Most young werewolves couldn’t master scent masking for years. Silas had done it effortlessly. There was a time when I felt proud of how extraordinary he was. But right now, I almost hated how skilled he was.
“Did he act strangely before leaving?” I asked anxiously.
Frank sighed. “He complimented the new clothes I bought him,” he said quietly. “Then he suddenly told me he wished I were his father.”
My chest tightened painfully.
Frank continued, “After that, he said he was going to do homework. But when I checked on him later, he was already gone.” He paused briefly. “I checked the security footage afterward. He climbed out through the second-floor window.”
“The second-floor window?”
Even though I knew an Alpha cub wouldn’t be injured by something like that, hearing it still made my heart lurch violently with concern.
“Maybe…” I forced myself to rationalize the situation desperately. “He just wanted to avoid homework?”
“That’s impossible,” Frank replied immediately. “You know how intelligent Silas is. That level of homework is nothing to him.” His tone turned heavier. “He genuinely wants to find you.”

After ending the call, I received a call from Tracy. “Lianne, I’ve already packed Ruby’s things, and I’m waiting in Brinewick,” she said anxiously. “Any updates on your end?”
“Not yet. I’m still waiting to board my flight,” I answered, trying hard to sound calmer than I actually felt. Then I lowered my voice and added, “Take good care of Ruby. Don’t let her wander off.”
After hanging up, I couldn’t remain seated any longer. I stood up and paced restlessly around the crowded departure lounge, anxiety clawing mercilessly at my chest.
Where exactly was Silas? If anything happened to him, I didn’t know how I would be able to go on.
Ethan’s POV
Standing beside the window in the departure lounge, I silently watched Lianne pacing back and forth while clutching her phone tightly in her hand.
Her complexion was frighteningly pale, and the panic in her eyes was unlike anything I had ever seen from her before.
“Should we just call her and ask her what happened?” Noah quietly suggested from beside me.
“No,” I refused without hesitation, my gaze never leaving her figure. “Werewolves have sharp instincts. If I suddenly appear right now, it’ll only make her more anxious.” After a brief pause, I added quietly, “And besides, I’m probably the last person she wants to see at a moment like this.”
“Then should we send someone from the Nexith Group to ask what happened?” Noah asked again.
I shook my head slightly. “Brian’s people won’t talk,” I said calmly. “Their mouths are tightly sealed.”
Judging from how frantic Lianne looked, I couldn’t shake the feeling that this involved a child. Most likely Tracy’s daughter, the child closest to Lianne in Brinewick.
